Stoops won a national championship, but other than that I would say he is the absolute worst coach I have ever seen in terms of getting his team ready to play in bowl games. Remember the chock job against BSU? Not really surprised by this at all.

He also ***** slapped Saban and the tide last year.

"Big Game Bob" used to be a compliment for Stoops. Now it's a joke.

What's making me cringe is, if the Big 12 has a terrible bowl season, what does that say about our record this year?

Yeah, we don't belong on the same field as Oklahoma and it looks like Oklahoma doesn't belong on the same field as Clemson.

Funny how much I got ripped on for saying the Big 12 isn't very good all year. Where do the Big 12 wins come from this bowl season? Sure didn't get any signature wins in the non conference.

The Big 12 has TCU, Baylor, and KSU.... that's about it. OU stinks it up in nearly every bowl game that isn't a huge name bowl.

But just remember what this OU team did to us this year. It could have been 100-0 and they could have put up over 1,000 yds of offense on us had they left their starters in. And no, that is not an exaggeration at all.

But yet, lowly Clemson is taking them to the woodshed. Wow, are we bad.

I get what you're saying but if OU would have won 100-0 tonight it wouldn't have said anything about us. I'm not sure anyone is saying "Wow, ISU is even more terrible than I thought"

It's probably 3rd behind SEC and Pac 12 but ahead of the ACC and B1G. Middle of the pack. Our strength of schedule is always overrated on this board.

Don't care for Oklahoma at all, even though they represent the Big XII in this game. This is kind of funny, to be honest. Not a Stoops fan, hate their dumb boomer sooner song and the fact they beat us down every year doesn't help either.

Dear Big 12 bowl teams:

After a 2-10 (0-9) season, our only hope to save some dignity whatsoever would be if the big 12 dominated in all of it's bowl games, proving that we weren't really as bad as it seems, we just played a really hard schedule. That logic doesn't work when you all keep laying down and spreading your cheeks in your bowl games. Please stop.

Sincerely,

Iowa State fans

My prediction is: if OU has a less-than-stellar year AGAIN next year, he will be gone -- Freerents will also be gone and Stoops will become the next Hok coach. But, back on topic, OU looks absolutely terrible in this game -- wish they'd play that way against us.

Why aren't the bowls between evenly ranked teams? Even the non playoff ones. Like why can't 5 play 6 and 7 play 8, etc. Why is #17 playing an unranked team?

OU is like KU in bball... They are so used to getting special treatment from Big 12 refs that they are shell shocked. Fun to see them get the short end of the stick over and over again on that.

For all we know, they did.

I agree. I guess I understand trying to match up teams that are geographically or historically relevant to bowl localities, but I would lie to see more rankings-based match ups and less conference tie-ins.
