Recently kicked off Washington, not sure why he got kicked off but having a 7 footer who averages 10.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.4 blocks per game couldn't hurt. Maybe Hoiberg's home of second chances will shine again?

I'll always trust Fred when it comes to transfers but this will be his 3rd chance
Washington assistant T.J. Otzelberger visited with Upshaw and the big man's family, friends and former coaches in hopes of assessing what went wrong at Fresno State and whether the off-court issues were likely to resurface. Upshaw convinced Otzelberger he was ready to make the necessary changes in his life, but he didn't meet the coaching staff's expectations during his redshirt season, leading to Romar prohibiting him from attending practice or sitting on the bench during games for the second half of last season.

Sounds like this was the 2nd time this guy has been shown the door for substance abuse issues. Hope the guy turns it around, but I don't think it will be at Iowa State.

Just to play out the hypothetical, what is his eligibility situation?
The couple of articles I looked at list him as a Junior but it appears he was at Fresno St. in 2012-13, sat out at Washington in 2013-14, and had been playing at Washington this season. So if he wanted to play at another DI college would he be a sit one and play his senior year guy or is he a Junior that has already used his redshirt season so he would need to be a graduate transfer (which seems unlikely)?

Considering we lose Niang, Diallo, and McKay, we need bigs after next year. Only issue is he'll be a senior and has these drug issues.

He was having a big season too, tons of potential. Hopefully he takes some time off to get his head straight.
If CFH could somehow set the guy straight I would love to see him in Ames. However, I highly doubt that's the case.
