Yes. KU turned it over 16 times tonight and got out rebounded, which rarely happens. KU shot the ball well after a terrible start, but its not like they played out of their minds good.

Name a game or two so far this year they played better than they did tonight?

We are a terrible road team with no gimmes left on the road. Going to be tough sledding the rest of the way.
Can we please stop it with the "We are a terrible road team" crap. ISU is 4-5 away from Hilton. While not great, its not terrible. I'd be willing to bet ISU wins 2 or 3 more road games this season.

KU got back in transition and ISU rebounded well this game. Both teams fixed things that were bad the first game, and KU won comfortably. We'll see who finishes the season better.

What happened on the possession where we were scrambling for a loose ball and I think Mason was out of bounds laying on the ground? It was like they stopped the play and gave them the ball for him being hurt, unless Nader or Niang stopped out of bounds and I didn't see that call.

7-2. No freaking way we go 5-4.

Still love our team, but 7-2? I think the 5-4 poster is closer to being right. We only have 4 home games left, and we've only won 1 of our previous 4 road games. Throw in Maryland & SCarolina losses....this team is just so much better in Hilton, its almost crazy...like a 10-pt. difference. If this team wins out at home and wins three more road games, I would be pleasantly surprised but gladly come on here and eat crow. OU has won at Okie State and Texas. Not sure this team will do that. OU has been impressive lately, imo, as they seem to have more consistent scoring depth than we do right now (at least away from Hilton). I think OU takes 2nd with only 4 road games left, unless WV picks up more road wins. I see us fighting for 3rd/4th. Not down on the team, just where I see us, due to ROAD struggles. Realize some of you disagree on the "road" thing. Flame away. Sucks that KU will probably win it again, but still alot to play for. Hope the guys don't let down with one of their main goals now improbable. They played hard and sometimes too fast, if thats possible.

This is one thing I just don't understand about some of the posters on this site. These guys played their hearts out tonight and left their guts out on the court. Isn't that all we can ever ask of a bunch of 18-21 year old young adults? As long as the intensity and effort is there, fans should be supportive of their team.

A good point. I'm not a big moral-victory guy, for the most part, and some teams can give effort and finish 14-17 instead of piecing together some "could-haves" to win 20. Ball-handling was sloppy at times, offensively got a little rattled & tense in latter part of first half and dug too large of a hole, but I can't complain about the intensity.

For the most part, ISU fought for rebounds, dived for loose balls, forced a few tie-ups with aggressive play. Players didn't whine about the officiating, sulk about errors & missed shots, loaf and not get back on D, et. al. It could have been headed to a 25-point loss at one point, but they scratched & clawed, in a hostile environment.

We've seen several games this season when a lot of those things didn't happen on the same night.

Some killer blocked shots by Hogue & McKay, too, fun to watch.

I'd be thrilled with anything better than 5-4. I'm going with 5-4 though.

Wins: VS OU, WVU, TTU, BAYLOR, @ TCU
LOSSES:'@ Kansas State, @ Oklahoma State, @ Oklahoma, @ Texas.

At this this point how can you predict a road win? Let a lone more than 1.

Well, either way this game is behind us. Im sure this game has been lingering in the players heads the past two weeks leading to the loss at TT and slow starts everywhere else. Not they can begin to take each team at a time mentally

We had less turnovers than Kansas. They just shot lights out from long range.

That tends to happen when shooters are given 5+ feet of room. Overall not a bad game at all; only real gripes are the to's and not closing out on shooters.

I think it would be interesting to throw some random press out every so often just to throw teams off guard and maybe burn a timeout or two.

ISU is going to win at least one in your "losses" category — perhaps only one; capable of 2, but I'll tread lightly for overconfidence. In order of likelihood: KSU, OSU, Texas, Oklahoma.

This is pretty much what I expect too. I think we have a good shot @OSU though. Maybe a win at Texas depending on if they get their crap together by the time we play them or not.

This team needs to find more constant play out of the 7th and 8th player. To be at the level of Kansas, in conference play you have to have program players that can sub in and have good games.

Agreed, ISU only had 6 players score in this game. That's a lot of pressure on the guys that are in there. Niang was out of gas the last two minutes and looked like he was trying to stretch out a cramping calf at the scorers table a few times. This was one of the most consistently high intensity games I have seen from both teams. There really was no lull in the intensity level at any point in the game.

Honestly, I don't think anyone for ISU had a bad game except for maybe Morris and he was good in spurts. BDJ started out cold and had some questionable shot selections but he had a very solid close to the game and scooped up nine boards. Niang was awesome, Hogue was very impressive, a real scrapper that battled for tough points and boards and MCKay was a real pain in the butt. I don't know how anyone can get a ball past him on an inbounds play where they have to be stationary. Crazy long arms.

I am glad this game is over and behind us.
