Nice article and nice comment on ISU by Bill Self

"But this week’s developments crowded the field. The Jayhawks failed to finish at West Virginia and Iowa State learned to win on the road taking games at Oklahoma State and Texas. KU coach Bill Self rightfully called it the best week by a Big 12 team this season.

Oklahoma and West Virginia, which also collected road victories on Saturday, also must be scoreboard-watched."

I just don't see it happening. Even if we win out (which I think is maybe 25% chance), and KU loses at OU (>75% chance) -- then it's shared and KU will keep their streak. Don't they have like 3 shared titles already in the 10 in a row?

So I'd give us about a 20% chance to share, but 1% chance to win outright. I just don't see KU dropping 2 games with the schedule they have. Go EMAW, I suppose.

Dang that Tech game...

So what if it is shared? That would be a huge step in the right direction for this program. Winning out will be incredibly tough, but I really don't think KU will win at OU.

I think there are a number of ISU fans who would rather see KU's streak end than see ISU win a share of the title. It is a strange thing to see.

Of course the optimal outcome is ISU wins the title solo and KU finishes 10th in the conference. But at this point in the season ISU has a realistic path to the Big 12 title. Who gives an eye-poking Woodbury about anything else? We could be Big 12 champs!

I would lik a share of the title for Fred to sell to recruits....

Obviously we would all love to shut up the "streak" talk, but in the scheme of things sharing the title would certainly help.

Plus we split with them so unless they were to beat us in the tourney, there would be no reason to feel that we didn't deserve the championship

Looking at the picture of Cliff Alexander of the link that was posted, all I can say if Perry Ellis looks old there is no doubt Cliff could easily be his uncle.:twitcy:

2013 - KSU
2008 - Texas
2006 - Texas
2005 - Oklahoma

But do you EVER hear mention that those teams "won a conference title" in those years? No.

Here nor there
Such a fine line in college basketball. Obviously the Lost Saturday in Lubbock looms large, we knew it would the moment we lost. But the two results at Baylor are huge from an ISU perspective. Chery hits a tough, push-off assisted step-back and we lose by one. KU wins by one after Gathers blows it.

Of course, these little differences tend to go your way when you have confirmation bias in your favor.

I don't hear that Kansas won a conference title in 2013, 2008, 2006 and 2005 either

What?

Their streak is referenced at least once in every major B12 televised game.... even the ones not featuring Kansas.

Kansas losing 2 of its remaining games would be paramount to an all out "implosion". There is almost no way it happens.

ISU made it's bed when they lost to a team which can't beat KU. As many said then, despite how silly it sounded so early on, they basically handed KU the title after that game.

Share the title and play in the big 12 champ. Fred and bill agree the winner can call themseleves champ and the loser cannot

Nothing wrong with sharing the title if it comes to that ( zillion times better than placing 2nd or 3rd), especially after we were predicted to finish between 3-6 by many media members
