And Stumbles, please tell me that part of that test was an oral section wherein you had to demonstrate that you could properly pronounce Nuclear, and not Nook-you-lurr like one of our former presidents.

Bananas and oil, yes others no. I know it sounds sad, but I don't want to go to the store if I can help it.

There is a cinnamon and banana muffin that I make, I think it is a Betty Crocker recipe. Maybe between 2yr old and 3yr old refereeing I can look it up.

So, who else is looking for a new CSA this year? Who's with me? (OK, probably no one, that's cool)

On one hand, we really liked the people that ran the one we were in last year, and the herb garden was really nice, they were very heavy on a few things (Kale, hot peppers) and didn't have a few other things I would have wanted (carrots...really, are carrots that much to ask for?)

The ones we're looking at...one has inconvenient pickup locations/times, the other had a son who played for Iowa...

Hmmm...uptown problems, right?

Did you talk to the owner at the end of the season about what you would like to add? Did your CSA have a end of year survey? Not all soil types can raise good tasting carrots. The thing w/ CSAs is that you are sharing the risk with the grower and some years some crops grow better than others. My first crop of green beans all got nipped off by rabbits all in one night. I just think a little communication can go a long way in helping both the producer and consumer in these type of situations.

In order: No, mainly because it was our first year in any CSA, so I wasn't sure my expectations were appropriate, but looking at others now...

No, they did not have a survey.

Soil types: The farm is on basically a sand pit that they've amended for years with compost (their description)...I thought sandy soil was good for carrots, but IANAF.

And I'm not completely bagging on them, just trying to decide if another is a better fit for us....and again, it was our first rodeo, so I'm honest that we're learning as well.

You are right sandy soil should be good to raise carrots but maybe something else happened to them disease, insects, etc. Maybe the variety they picked just didn't turn out good that year? It is a tough decision on the grower do you send out a poor flavored product or do you just take the loss, use them yourself put them back in the compost pile. If you like the people talk to them no one has a more vested interest in the business to succeed than the owner. These types of businesses take a lot of work to succeed. Good luck with whoever you choose.

Does Stephen A Smith need to make everything racial?

woof. Looked up what you were talking about. There's no outcry because they kicked him out. Without needing video evidence.......without a ton of evidence at all, actually. And some serious questions about Driscoll's credibility. They saw how the NFL fumbled that and decided not to go that route. I think you can make the argument that they went too far if you really wanted to. Smith is off-base on this one.
