Losses like this are gonna make the banner drop next fall that much sweeter. Between that comment and the constant excuses from our players, I am officially frustrated with this team. "Best PG in the country", Wooden watch list and mismatch nightmare Niang, true rim protector for once, sharpshooters, versatile players (Hogue, BDJ, Nader) and we can't close out games.
I am now thinking Sweet 16 will be a successful year. Who knows, we may string some wins together and make a run. But at this point we are who we are and we are not a "great" team, just a team with some "great" pieces. I hope I am wrong and will gladly eat crow if/when we make a run but there is something awfully wrong with the toughness of this team and I could see a painful collapse in Big XII and NCAA tourneys.

Seriously the mentions of National Championship surrounding Iowa State need to stop. At least until we make a freaking Final Four run.

Let's hold off on this talk until the regular season plays out. This could be the thing that finally gets them motivated, but playing like this is also how a season falls apart. We'll see what this is after we leave a high school gym in Forth Worth.

Heard this after every loss. Finally motivated after this loss? Doubtful.

It can hang right next to the banner that awards us as the worst inbounding team in the NCAA.

he said he won't be happy until he hangs one up there. he didn't promise one this year specifically. when the team is clicking they can beat anyone in the country. it;s the small errors that pile up. overcome those and this team still could make a deep run.

BDJ didn't come here to lose.
McKay didn't come here to lose.
Niang and Houge won't be happy losing after what happened last year.

This team still has heart. Win another Big 12 tourney and we're right back at the top.

"finally gets them motivated"......? What the heck kind of comment is that? I'm sure they built a couple of 12 pt. leads on the road because they "weren't motivated" enough. Did we have costly errors down the stretch?....Sure. But enough of the motivation or wake-up call crap. The guys are busting their butt but going through a rough stretch.

The sad truth. Our guys still don't know how to play with a lead. I agree, I'm sick of the wake up call crap too, but clearly they still need them or they wouldn't keep playing stupidly when up by a decent amount.
