All weekend, while playing basketball out back, my 7-year old son kept saying "Hey, you pulled a Spangler" every time someone missed a layup.

Kinda mean. And I felt a slight twinge tug at my heart when I saw those shots of him in the lockerroom with the towel over his head.

But then I thought - if I got to choose one person in the entire tournament for that to happen to - it would be him

I suggest you pull the kid aside and explain that Spangler, "pulled a Woodbury" when ever a layup is T-Rex' :)

Yes, you should correct him. I believe the term shall forever after be called, "Spangled". So just get him to use the correct term, and he'll be good to go.

What's there to correct? He missed the easy layup. You could say that the ball slipped out of his hand, but it doesn't change the fact that he msised a wide open one.
