What's your confidence level of beating UNI in the first game?

I've lost 1 bet in the last 5 years if that tells you how 'lose' I am with my money. If you're so sure why don't you make that 2?

I'm the tightest tightwad I know. If it's such a silly bet for me to make, where is everybody bucking up to take it??
I never said I was "sure" as I have posted how not confident I am and the 40% level I am at. If I had to pick, I would pick UNI, but I wouldn't be certain either way.

Alright, you're in! How much??

I should note I'll only bet established posters (at least like 200 posts).

What a ****** bag. You're actually trying to get ISU fans to bet against their own team? For **** sake, shut the **** up already.

I think the fact that this thread even exists is telling. I'd also differentiate between odds and confidence. I would say the odds of us winning this game are around 40%. I would say my confidence level in this team winning this game is 0%.

I'm usually very confident thinking we will beat lower division schools.

Doesn't mean it will happen, though, and I'm not one to talk smack before games because Karma will find you and kick you in the butt.

Of course not. I don't have to justify my lack of confidence by betting with someone on CF. This team has not done anything yet to instill any confidence in me, even in beating UNI. Of course we CAN beat UNI, but I have nearly no confidence in predicting that it will actually happen.

Then I'm not sure why you quoted my post? I get that it's your 'thing' to constantly use snark & make people laugh, cool. Keep talkin 'bro'

This is a good point. This is what I am at and would think it's pretty reasonable with the way things have gone with Rhoads.

I quoted it because I thought it was stupid, but if I just replied with 'that's stupid' it would have been rude.

I would think we would play like busy beavers in our stadium from opening kickoff. For some reason CPR teams sometimes come out very soft.

UNI is installing a completely new offense and will be starting a new quarterback (I don't think there's any chance of Kollmorgen winning the job). That said, the defense will be very good again and the secondary is outstanding.

I really believe Iowa State wins a low scoring game. Something like 21-17 or 17-14.

Ok, call me names all you want.

They're already talking down their team saying they will lose. I'm just wondering if anybody wants to do more than talk..

Not forcing anyone to do it, just throwing it out there..

I think he is just trying to get all the dbags with the snarky comments to put up or shut up.
There's no putting up or shutting up, the thread is about what your level of confidence is, some people have a lot and some people have very little. Some people seem to get very offended at the thought of not having confidence in a 2 win team from a year ago.

40%. In other words, gun to my head I'm taking UNI but we have a reasonable shot with David Johnson gone as well as it being the most pressure-packed game of Paul Rhoads' life.

Based on the current roster (which I'm sure needs updating) & the latest depth chart from last fall, the interior D-line & linebackers lost quite a bit. Who takes over those positions?

Lol, the UNI fan has more confidence in ISU than most ISU fans.

I'd be ecstatic if our D holds anyone under 20 this year. But who knows, maybe this is one of those years where there aren't any expectations so they'll play well.

I have zero confidence in an ISU win. The team has shown me nothing in the previous two years that says that it is physically able, or properly prepared, to compete at the Big 12 level.

That said, I am not going to bet against my own team. I'm not sure if you're trying to throw us into some kind of "A Modest Proposal" situation here or what, but it's not cool.

Just think about it, ISU finally gets the SEZ done by spending a butt load of money and they lose the dedication game for the SEZ to UNI with the biggest home crowd of all time on hand to witness it. It's the most ISU thing to do ever. 61,000 in-person nut punches?!? Fate won't miss that chance. And you just know it'll be in the most heartbreaking fashion possible

Just like how it's now destiny that ISU plays UAB next season in basketball and wins by 36.
