What's your confidence level of beating UNI in the first game?

I don't think size matters.

That's not what she said...

But for the love of gawd our O-line should be able to push these guys around on the interior. Take their fancy secondary out of the equation. Our 6'5"+ receivers should outfight them for jump balls anyways. I know it hasn't happened in the past, but that's why we brought in Mangino. No more ******* around- let's see some old fashioned power football.

More food for thought: We beat Iowa. They beat UNI. UNI beat NDSU. This team has mind-****ed itself. They absolutely can beat the purple hawks and they should.

I would hold out any prediction until I know how many players get hurt over the summer, and how many come back from their current injuries. If ISU starts the season with 5-6 offensive and defensive linemen hurt again this year, it will be a battle to stop UNI or anyone else for that matter.

I can tell you that UNI is probably 100% confident that they will win this game while we are hoping to play well and win.

Would be the third loss in three years to a 1AA, which is unspeakable in this day of college football. I go back and forth on who the better team is though. I really dont know at this point if we win this game.

Our odds of beating UNI are better than the odds of Iowa beating Iowa State.

I'd rather bet the over/under on the number of our guys carted off the field.

Central Iowa
60/40 or 70/30.

I haven't given up on Rhoads yet. Too many new pieces last year to be jumping off the cliff.

Don't remind me of the new pieces for this year (OL, DL, etc) or I might jump off the cliff. :twitcy:

I think that ISU has a 25% chance to win and there's a 50% chance that Mangino will be the interim HC in Game 2. This staff has done an absolutely horrible job getting the team ready to play after layoffs...whether it is bowl games or the 1st game of the season. Pretty much all have been disgustingly flat performances. Usually, they come out on fire, then get punched in the mouth and fold like a cheap tent.

Defensively, they're going to depend on JUCOs like Ayeni, Tucker, Jones, Harris, Wiltz, Leath to not only be contributors, but difference makers. That pretty much never happens. Offensively, we've heard so much BS about how good they're going to be for years that it isn't even believable now. The OL hasn't blocked anyone at ISU in 5 years. But we're supposed to believe that this year is different?

Let me see, I'm guessing we'll see UNI's undersized, Iowa boy DL busting through our OL like they were blocks of styrofoam. And then their OL full of guys we passed on will ground our inexperienced DL into the dirt.

It's going to be disappointing when we have 89 yards rushing; 84 of which come from the QB position.

I am 100% confident that ISU will not lose to a Division II team this season.

I am 100% confident that ISU will lose to UNI this season. I'll still watch and hope for the best, though.

Do we really have to talk about football already, thanks a lot stupid UAB. I was counting on at least another 2 weeks of rainbows, sunshine and basketball.
