Been awhile since I have played fantasy baseball. I set up a league and am trying to determine what type of scoring to use. I realize head to head (5x5) is probably the most common type these days, but I could be wrong. I also remember playing in a head to head points league. Any of you avid fantasy players have a format that you prefer the best, is the most entertaining?

I prefer head to head just because the season is so long it helps keep the competitive nature up for people who fall behind. I also like to use an expanded 6x6 scoring instead of the 5x5. We had OBP and HOLDS to the standard format. Just more variety in player types that way and more chances to score points.

Do you do a win per stat category or one win overall for the week?

We've done rotisserie, 5x5, 6x6, and head to head points, like in fan. football. Rotisserie is great if everyone is willing to look at it every day. Otherwise, it just becomes who has the most free time. If you're working with beginners, you might try making it the most like football, so it's easier to bring people up to speed. It also eliminates categories, which can sometimes be ********. Example: I hate the Wins category. A pitcher can pitch 5 innings of 9+ ERA ball and still get a win if he's on a good team. It should be about the pitcher, not the team around him.
