Umps were pathetic the entire series.

1. Friday's slide was cheap, but the right move was made in keeping him in the game.

2. The Saturday retaliation should've been a warning. That would've ended all issues right there.

3. Todays retaliation with the Athletics first should've been an automatic ejection to remain consistent

4. Right idea to kick out Herrerra, but it was well after the umps basically rubbed one out for the A's.

I think it would have been over if Ventura hadn't walked off the mound and dared Lawrie to fight him. Immature move by Ventura.

After that the A's felt emasculated and got away with throwing at Royals players because their pitcher was a baby-faced white kid.

So sorry you were offended by a HBP bounced in the dirt. Royals fans, where you get the arrogance of KU fans, the delusions of husker fans and the outright stupidity of hok fans.

We act "offended" because of trolls like turn2 starting ****! Going to defend this team. Just like the players are standing up for each other. It is a team sport. Most trolls are just jelly cuz the Royals are that good!

The best part is that the Royals won the series. The damn injuries are piling up though and they sure seem to get hit by pitches more than they should.

Kazmir throwing at Cain yesterday started yesterday's mess. The fact that A's didn't think they would respond is ridiculous. Umpire crew should all be suspended.

Also laughable that Lawrie is talking about this just being a game and not trying to hurt people when he tried to end Escobar's career with a slide on Friday

Simple breakdown of it all.

1.) Lawrie's slide was bad, started the whole thing.
2.) Lawrie took his beaning and showed no reaction, but Ventura coming towards Lawrie escalated things unnecessarily.
3.) Kazmir's pitch wasn't blatant enough to warrant an automatic ejection. Yost escalated it again by ignoring the ump telling him not to leave the dugout and so he got tossed.
4.) Herrera was pure bush league throwing 100 near Lawrie's head and then yelling at pointing at his head on the way off the field.

Basically it should have been done when Lawrie got hit, but IMO all further action was escalated by the Royals and this new wannabe tough guys attitude.

Side thought: Ventura really needs to get it together for the Royals. He's a fabulous young pitching talent, but if you keep messing with guys like Trout, Lawrie, etc. trying to start a fight, one of these days Perez wont be able to get out there quick enough to save you.

Don't try to sell us on Kazmir not throwing at Cain intentionally. He had amazing control all day, and yet one got away from him when KC's best player was up with 2 out in the first and nobody on base?

Lawrie made a baseball play on Friday. He tried to break up a potential double play and did his job. Unless you're a fan of the Royals you understand what had to be done. Hell, Yost even said the slide wasn't dirty. That kind of play happens all the time, Escobar just got nailed this time. It's sports, sometimes **** just happens.

Kazmir shouldn't have beaned Cain simple as that. It was over after Ventura hit Lawrie. But since it was escalated then Herrera should plunked him. If you don't want a 100 mph fastball in your ear then you should ve left well enough alone.

As a Royals fan, I was actually excited to see this kind of passion. They are showing me they are a tough, united group who won't back down! Most of the antics were pretty immature and silly, but who cares...these kinds of things keep baseball interesting.

There was no double play to break up.. He would of been safe with a normal slide..

Oakland bench was out on the field yelling at Herrera.. Things got heated.. I am sure Oakland was saying inappropriate things.. But a guy pointing at his head is wrong...lol ok. It's baseball.

If Herrera acts a little crazy it makes him harder to face later on.

You know that after you've seen the replay 30 times. Just as Yost said after he watched the replay after the game...that was a hard baseball play.

Yost is going to say that... He is not going to stir the pot..

I thought I saw a stat yesterday the Royals have had batters hit 14 times by a pitch vs. Royals pitchers hitting them 2 or 3 times? Hard to believe pitchers have had that bad of control to start the season against 1 team. Good for KC sticking up for themselves!

Defending Kazmir or the umps for not ejecting Kazmir is rationalizing.

Should Ventura and Herrera been ejected? Absolutely. And they were. But Kazmir should have too. It was obvious that he meant to hit Cain.

I agree that Ventura and Herrera are immature for some of their actions after the HBP, but they are also ****** off by what has been happening to the Royals and passionate about their team. I would rather see that than players that just accept this crap. You have to understand that Lawrie incident on Friday was a final straw. It wasn't one incident that set this team off. But he got his payback on Saturday and that should have ended there. There was no need for Kazmir to hit Cain to continue the escalation.

Yost or anyone else can't come out and say they are going to retaliate, that shows premeditation and would warrant suspension. Its another unwritten rule, you don't say it out loud.

All I know is that I'm getting excited to watch baseball finally. For the first time since moving to KC in 98, I've become a "fan". Baseball was never something I cared about unless my childhood team, Phillies, were in contention. But being a KC fan for the last 17 years has really not done much for me caring about baseball until last year. Now I find myself actually watching baseball during the regular season for the first time in my life. Thank you Royals! (and screw the As...)
