Remember guys... Lawrie isn't a dirty player he just plays the game "hard." I mean should we really be surprised that a piece of **** plays for a team who's stadium routinely fills with ****? Oh and there is the raw sewage in the dug outs issue also.

Each team had 1 player hit. Royals are getting frustrated with all the HBP this season. Alex Rios got hit and it out for 6 weeks. On it's own, Lawrie's play was reckless and agree that after he took his hit like a man, everything should have ended. But Kazmir, intentional or not wiped out everything.

Did anyone see how ****** that ump was yelling at Royals bench? Those guys should get fined when they get out of control.

This!

Yost went out because a different bench coach got ejected.. He was going out to see why he got ejected and the hot head ump had to make it all about him! It is pathetic.

As a KC Royals fan, I'm not surprised by the events of the weekend - it was a volcano waiting to erupt.

Apr 6 vs CWS - Lorenzo Cain, CF gets hit by a pitch, Alex Gordon, LF gets hit by a pitch
Apr 8 vs CWS - Lorenzo Cain, CF gets hit by a pitch, Mike Moustakas, 3B gets hit by a pitch
Apr 9 vs CWS -
Apr 10 vs LAA - Mike Moustakas, 3B gets hit by a pitch TWICE, Alex Gordon, LF gets hit by a pitch
Apr 11 vs LAA - Eric Hosmer, 1B gets hit by a pitch, Alex Gordon, LF gets hit by a pitch
Apr 12 vs LAA - Mike Moustakas, 3B gets hit by a pitch
Apr 13 vs MIN - Alex Rios, RF gets hit by a pitch PUT ON 15-DAY DL, Alex Gordon, LF gets hit by a pitch
Apr 15 vs MIN - Kendrys Morales, DH gets hit by a pitch
Apr 16 vs MIN -

By the time the Oakland series rolled around, my guess is KC is a little on edge with all of the HBPs they have experienced - 13 HBPs in 9 games. That's a pretty high rate.

On top of that, one of those batters was put on the DL due to a broken finger from a hit by pitch.

By Friday night, the Royals are frustrated and have seen one of their starters go down due to a HBP.

In the seventh inning of Friday night's game, Lawrie slides hard into Escobar, dirty or clean, and injures a second starter from the Royals.

The bear has been poked.

A retaliation is coming.

Sure enough, in Saturday's game, Ventura plunks Lawrie. Ventura gets ejected. Lawrie takes his lumps with no complaint. Should be the end of things, right?

Whoops, guess not. In the first inning, Cain gets hit by Kazmir. No ejection of Kazmir. Royals are enraged.

Once again, retaliation is only a matter of time.

Sure enough, Lawrie steps up to the plate in the 8th inning and gets one pitch inside and the next one goes behind his head. Herrera is ejected and all hell breaks loose.

I'm not going to try to guess which events were intentional or not. But you've got to be naive to think that KC was going to go quietly into the night after seeing another starter get injured and another HBP.

Hopefully, they've got it out of their system and can cool down a bit over the next week. But don't be surprised to see them easily get aggressive if something happens again (HBP, hard slide, collision, etc).

This is a bad example for your case against Lawrie. Those were BS calls against him. That slide was different, but I don't blame him for reacting to these **** calls. Now, if there was something he did prior to this to make the ump call that crap, then you should've used that video.

Lawrie made a baseball play on Friday. He tried to break up a potential double play and did his job. Unless you're a fan of the Royals you understand what had to be done. Hell, Yost even said the slide wasn't dirty. That kind of play happens all the time, Escobar just got nailed this time. It's sports, sometimes **** just happens.

If a guy slides ANYWHERE with his spikes up- you have to deal with that by hitting him. Everyone knew it and so did Lawrie (who is an idiot). When the guy you slid into is injured- you get a bit more grace on this issue. I admired the way Lawrie took his beaning and actually hated how Ventura escalated it.
Still, Kazmir hit Cain (even though it was off speed) intentionally and re-escalated the entire thing.

Mostly a young team in KC that is learning how to go through this stuff. The A's knew better but now are in the role of having the back of a widely known idiot in Lawrie.

Both sides are correct in supporting their respective teams. That's baseball

On point- gotta deal with the spikes up on the slide- bush league move.

You can't even come close to definitively saying Kazmir intentionally threw at him. The stuff yesterday is the real problem. I don't really care what someone did throwing 100 mph near someone's head is suspension worthy.

My case against Lawrie is that hes a ****** bag (always has been)... not sure how video of him throwing his helmet at an umpire undermines that case but ok.

Good to know in your world if something goes against you its ok to act out in a manner suited for a Toddler.

Yes we can. Kazmir threw 103 pitches yesterday. 73 were strikes. He did not walk a hitter until the 8th inning.

He was a surgeon, and that includes intentionally throwing at KC's best player with 2 out and nobody on base in the first inning.

I'm not arguing that he's a ******. I'm not sticking up for him. And he didn't throw the helmet at him, he threw it in the dirt. I'm not saying he didn't want to hit the ump.

Anyway, carry on. Lawrie is the devil.

I find it pretty crazy Kazmir would intentionally throw at someone in the first inning. That's a good way to kill your entire bullpen if you get tossed

My son and I were at the game Sunday. We are life long A's fan. We had our A's clothing on but did not taking any ribbing from Royals fans. The Royals announcers were hard on the Royals. They felt coaches and players were over reacting.
