Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

I'm assuming if Fred makes the move, he will be living in the North Shore. I work in the North shore and let me just say, Fred you will hate the commute you have to make almost every day. Don't do it. Also, the North Shore is full of the most stuck up people I know, don't do it!!!! Stay in Ames!!!

When he was a playa he lived in the northern suburbs or at least went to church there.

Yeah, thats the North Shore. Where pretty much all the rich people live who have families and don't want to live downtown.

My feeling is that if by end of Monday we've heard nothing then Fred is staying. If a press conference is scheduled by Monday well....

Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

"For the NBA, specifically its offseason, rumors drive the discussion. It is fun, probably even important, for fans to do such things to keep their hopes, dreams, and fantasies alive. For Bulls fans, maybe the idea of Fred Hoiberg coming to Chicago to implement a system similar to the one he has in college does that for them. It is their offseason medical marijuana, their drug which keeps their hopes high, while attempting to get over the 2014-’15 season." :spinny:

Chicago is the worst. It's like that guy that you hate at the bar that just keeps hitting on girls and his line is "You know you want it" "you know you want it" like saying it over and over again makes it true.

Hines said on twitter he narrowly leans towards Fred returning to ISU next season, and he is probably the best source when it comes to ISU basketball, so hopefully he is right

Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

Why? what did he say that was true? It clearly was not a done deal last week as he stated, players were not told, and Otz is not going to be interim coach for a year. Now CW and Jeremy and the entire media reporting on this could be wrong but I will go wuth them. If Hoiberg goes to the bulls that does not validate ****. Everyone with a brain knows that is a serious possibility.
I didn't mean to shoot the messenger though. I do appreciate him passing it along. Just doesn't add up. If it's true a lot are saying it so maybe he did tell staff today or something and dandy just had the details wrong. Who knows. Certainly more smoke now again. Hope not fire.

It's been done since last week. Dandy isn't lying

Completely untrue. Two of the best sources on this topic are Beck and Marc Stein...by far

Didn't get this into today's story, but plugged-in source considers Alvin Gentry the favorite to coach Bulls. "The guy I'd put my money on."

probably the closest in state source is Hines and he just tweeted that he's leaning toward Fred staying. I'm going to trust these sources above anyone on here.

I love how all of a sudden everyone has 'sources'. There's only one source that matters here and i doubt anyone really has it.

Believe what you want. No point posting info on here unless its positive anyways. If anyone knows me on here they know how positive I am towards ISU BB but it's a done deal

I said I don't know if the players knew otherwise I agreed with him. Why would you think long time posters are making up that Fred Hoiberg is leaving?

Hines knows a lot of info he doesn't break. He was laughing about how long he knew about TJ before he could publish his story on Twitter

Chris has been following this like crazy and said today that no one knows what Fred is thinking. That being said, everyone here are reaching up their ***** and throwing **** against the wall to see if it sticks. It is all running down into a great big pile of rancid feces.

And dear lord do these threads smell.

What are you talking about? If he knows Fred is leaving and he puts that on twitter than he is lying. He doesn't need to lie.
