Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

Hines knows a lot of info he doesn't break. He was laughing about how long he knew about TJ before he could publish his story on Twitter

Well, if he knew Hoiberg was leaving, I don't think he would say he thinks he is staying.

Anyone who says they know Fred is leaving is lying.

I love how all of a sudden everyone has 'sources'. There's only one source that matters here and i doubt anyone really has it.

....and they don't say what their sources are.

That makes them a bad source themselves.

They could be right about how this turns out, but so far I haven't seen anyone have any credibility whatsoever since they don't cite anything in detail.

Hope Fred stays. It will be a long time before the basketball program has this kind of excitement/consistency for winning, if ever.

Don't know what to tell you. He has way more info than me so I hope I'm wrong but I would bet anything I'm not. I have no reason to lie to anyone.

Cite where you got your information please.

If you know me on here you know I'm not lying. I'm not going to out a source on a message board. Don't believe me I don't care I was just sticking up for Dandy

"It's been a done deal since last week"

I highly doubt any contract has been signed.

That being said, I really wouldn't be shocked if Fred accepted an interview and/or was visiting/hanging out with the Bulls.

When I hear "done deal" I think verbal agreement.

I don't think anyone thinks you or Dendy are lying. It's clear you really believe the info you have. But no one on here knows what your source is, and much more credible sources to everyone else on CF refute much of what is being said.

I don't think you are lying, but you are repeating hearsay as facts, facts you have no way of knowing for sure. Just be honest about what you heard and don't state it as if its a fact.

You guys bashing on posters for stating what they have heard need to back off. If you don't agree, that's fine, but don't call them out. Hell that's one of the main reasons I get on here. I don't have any close sources, so the only way I can get a feel for what's going on around the program is thru those that do.

One thing I've learned from following situations where posters have inside info, share it here, then get bashed, is that those with the inside info are usually right.

Ayit. And I could definitely see that. I definitely believe you on this.

But, until paper meets pen, I'm banking on him being here next year.

I wouldn't be shocked if he were gone...in fact, I sort of plan on him being gone. But verbal agreements don't really mean much in this world

Let's look at it this way, Hines obviously knew WELL in advance TJ was leaving and didn't say anything to suggest it was a done deal even when he knew it was. If Hines gets asked on Twitter today if Fred is leaving and says he is leaning towards Fred leaving what happens? People freak out

I think he knows Fred is leaving and is playing it off until he knows it's coming out but that's strictly my opinion

I heard it's a done deal and the staff and JP know from someone who collects a check from ISU. Could they be wrong? Sure, but that would involve Fred changing his mind IMO

That would have been a better, more truthful, first post that stating something as a fact that is actually a rumor you happen to believe.

A close source of mine has said that Fred has kept quite so he can contemplate the Bulls offer but he will not easily be swayed towards accepting.

So are you claiming Dandy (or his source) is also correct about TJ being named interim HC for next season? Or is Jamie going to actually look for a coach?

He makes his living as a reporter and being knowledgeable and in the know. His job is to inform the public about ISU sports. He doesn't work for the AD, and it's not his job to cover for them. He might sit on a story and not say anything about it at most. You are suggesting he is actively trying to mislead. I think as a journalist he would be very offended by that notion. It's silly to even suggest it. You're better off just going with the argument that you know something he doesn't.
