Five hours ago your source told you that he met with the team to tell them he was leaving last week and that was blatantly false. Fred might leave but I get real tired of people posing as insiders.

It's a way to hedge his bets and not **** Fred/JP off. This isn't rocket science.

He's not Woodward and Berstein. He's as successful as his relationships around the AD take him.

If he burns bridges then he just becomes a less lazy version of Paul Clark.

Again, where do you see that Hines tweeted this? He hasn't... at least not in the past 5 days.

Exactly. It would damage Hines' career more to report this kind of information right now, too early.

And who's to say he even knows? Media people have good sources that are usually close to the relevant person, but in times like this they are also the quietest in this type of situation.

Yeah, as much as I don't WANT to believe it, I don't think these guys would put themselves out there like they have if they don't have solid intel.

If nothing else I'm preparing myself for the worst. We'll still have a good season next year, but I'll always wonder what could have been.

And it's not that I don't think Fred will go to the Bulls or that he's leaning that way, I just don't believe anyone who says it's a done deal and mainly because this is not just an ISU story. There is a whole other side to this and the Bulls are notorious for having front office leaks, and are covered by guys like Woj and Stein who aren't just mouthpieces for an AD's office and would know if there was any sort of verbal agreement in place with Fred and would not hesitate to report this.
