@MurphyKeith: I'm hearing Bulls, Twolves, Magic, and Pelicans have all reached out to Hoiberg. No surprise. Bulls charging hardest, but Twolves in play

@MurphyKeith: Keep eye on lottery. If Twolves get high pick, makes job more attractive for Hoiberg-or anyone. Door not closed at ISU, but NBA salary dbl.

@MurphyKeith: Not about money, but it never hurts to make double. Also hearing Hoiberg believes, in part, he may leave ISU in better shape now vs later.

@MurphyKeith: Hoiberg silence deafening, causing frustrations at ISU, but nothing Fred can really say right now. Nothing decided.

Wonder what exactly that last one means by "frustrations". Certainly hope it means for the fans, and not the admin. I would hope and expect that Fred is keeping JP well informed.

No. He shouldn't have any say.

Why? Because we're returning one of the best teams in ISU history that he raised? He found ways to make these kids successful in ways most college coaches couldn't...and it's best that he is completely out of the process for who coaches these kids next year?

What if our next coach is more defensive minded...or wants to play the shot clock the entire game....

CFH is a ******* hero, and I highly doubt he'd let JP run this ship to the ground.

I would pay so much money for Fred to hold a press conference and come out with "I'm just here so I don't get fined", then dougie off the stage. CF would implode.

If Pollard needs to have Fred find us our next coach, Pollard should not be our AD.

Didnt say he would do the heavy lifting but Im sure Pollard would respect an opinion. After all, Fred spends more time with the players than anyone else in the AD.

holy **** the front page is turning into a graveyard of posts.

When Fred leaves this site will turn into the 8th layer of hell.

Is it? Where are the results on the recruiting trail with even more success on the court? How was he able to bring in the great players he did with Mac as HC?

I don't know how good he will be as a HC but to diminish his recruiting chops is ridiculous. Look at what he did at Washington.

I agree. From what I understand Fred is pretty hands off on recruiting. I mean that's why Matt A. took one of our players and then who knows about Diallo.

But I was told Fred had already decided last week? I wonder if CyTwins thinks Keith Murphy is also just lying about this to throw people off of the truth like he thinks Hines is doing?

You can bet that Jamie Pollard is going to make a splash hire. I just do not see him risking his AD position on Otz. I am betting on someone like Archie Miller.

So the first 24 times you said this didn't hit home with one poster on this board, so you decided to run it up the flag pole again? OK, I will acknowledge having read your post about Archie Miller. I think most people around the country realize he'd be a great coach for just about any program.

This website is going to be embarrassing if/when it is announced Fred is gone. Lots of bitter posts from "fans" already. The man took a sewer of a basketball program and made it a power nobody wants to mess with. Would you rather the last 5 years be 10-15 win seasons? I can almost guarantee that would have been the case if Hoiberg didn't come. It sucks that he is all but gone but that's life and there are much worse things that can happen in life.

All the silence says is that he's listening, and frankly, he'd be a fool not to be. But it doesn't saying anything either way about whether he's staying or leaving.

Once Fred says he is gone, he will be out the door to (insert city) and trying to win over their fan base and players...He will have much more to worry about than telling Jamie who thinks would be a good fit. Jamie needs to save his own *** here and prove Fred wasn't his one hit wonder.

been laughing at people think the T'Wolves job is a good position and even better than the Bulls job. People realize the T'Wolves went 16-66. Wiggins is decent but he's not going to be a superstar. LaVine had good stats because he played on a crap team. Even adding a top pick and the T'Wolves are still a LONG ways away from competing for the playoffs.

The Bulls have a ****** front office but they have Rose and Butler, two guards you can build around. You are in the Eastern Conference, which is a huge advantage. Chicago also has way better fan support and a better market. Not even close in my opinion which job I'd take if I was Fred.

Maybe I know more than Keith Murphy does on this situation?

FWIW: just told Hoiberg and Wolves rumors are untrue. Flip and Fred are tight but Flip is coaching next year.
