The crane made its exit between 1111 and 1116 am. Perhaps smaller units will finish the job, or do what you suggest.

My random dumb question the day is why are there extra sections of bleachers sitting in the upper SE stands? Been there for weeks.

It will be funny, and so very Iowa State, if the football season starts with this section remaining bare dirt simply because nobody thought about how to get the final sections installed w/out a crane. Painting oneself into a corner, so to speak.

So seriously.... what is that big white box, and are the stands going to cover it up? God I hope so. Only ISU could mess something like this up.

All I can say is some people need a better hobby. It's like watching back seat drivers put together an Erektor set. Somewhat entertaining.

My goodness. BTW any cyclone fan saying only isu could mess this up is a bleeping idiot.

This is the guy who asks the same question that has been asked and answered 50 times.

Section P represent

Section P here. I got some photos of the last pieces of the preformed concrete being put in. Left my business card for the workers to join us for a game if they are locals! It would be awesome to watch the game with the guys who built the new upper corners.

Lighten up Francis. A jimlad shouldn't be required for every post. And fwiw, any institution in the state of IA could mess it up; not just ISU!

If I remember correctly, wasn't there a big electrical box in that corner? People used to sit on it.

Yeah I read your post earlier stating the same thing. And once again, no.

When a poster states "it would be just like isu to screw this up" or something similar. That does not translate to any college doing it.

You guys and your lack of understanding of your own language is comical.

Do I need a Jimlad so later I can act like it means something else?

Too funny.

Seriously? Look how badly we've messed up the NEZ, are you kidding me? Our NEZ looks like something that was just pieced together over 20 years and nothing goes together at all. It's basically an eyesore.

A freeway sign running over the top of a building that doesn't look like it belongs there, with a scoreboard on it. And then we come up with the great idea of putting in a tunnel for the players, and then we have it come out right behind this freeway sign structure instead of into the corner of the endzone like it should have been.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new SEZ and they did it right. But knowing how we've done some things in the past, it would be totally an ISU thing to do to have that big white box sticking out in that section of seats.

Yes, seriously. You, like Haverhill, need to get out more. Maybe visit some other stadiums and gain a little perspective.

Because if isu is doing it wrong my goodness have other teams really screwed up.

Just a brief list.

1. Texas bubble. Hawkeye bubble and now tin shed.
2. Kstates monstrosity of a building with a tiny set of stands across from it.
3. The huge building on one end of osu's stadium. Again. Out of place.
4. Carver Hawkeye and kinnick with zero parking or tailgating.
5. Most any other stadium with zero tailgating around stadium.
6. Baylor with nothing around the scoreboard.completely open end. Texas huge scoreboard...way too big. Looks odd.
7. Kansas..enough said

I could go on.

Maybe get out a little bit. Gain some perspective. You guys need it.

I'll dogpile on the NEZ tunnel. Why couldn't they have dug it deeper and about 50 more feet, and had it open up right behind the goalpost? Then put a storm cellar type double door over it, like from the outside of a farmhouse to the basement. Blow that siren, and bust open the door and let the players rush out.

Instead, they have to wait for the other team to move, and it's awkward as hell. Just bad traffic. It looks like something from elementary school. "Everybody hold the rope, and let the other team go first, like good boys and girls". That is embarrassing imho.

I don't mind the Jake and scoreboard. Not perfect, but not horrific.

Given our program history, I'm not sure being in the cellar is the metaphor we should go for. And even if the tunnel came out behind the goalposts the two teams would still have to cross because of the sidelines used.

What would that have cost? Millions?

I still think it can be improved but it's not as bad as many here make it out to be.

Nothing wrong with the scoreboard above the jake. Actually takes the focus off the roof and building.
