Very good interview. I kind of think Fred was Keith's source on what was going on this past week.

To the fans that sent Fred bad comments, grow the **** up, we don't need you in our fan base. He can return to Ames anytime he wants.

Yes I was upset about the whole situation the past week, but the Press Conference and this makes the situation seem so much better.

They cut out the part where Fred said, "I didn't want to pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity to work at the pinnacle of my profession and turn into somebody who hits up Bucs games with the Round Guy for the rest of my life."

Good Lord, was that the first time shooting for the camera man?

I'm guessing they promised this guy a freelance sidejob :jimlad:

5:55 was pretty comical zooming completely out of focus, then all the way in to only see Fred's lips LOL.

Half of the posters on here and on Twitter had the same "GTFO" attitude. Guess half the fanbase should pack up and go.

Man, dreamy is good. He has usIvins him again even as he dumps us. But crap I will root for the Bulls and him in whatever he does. What a great ambassador of Iowa State.

If Fred was Keiths source, Keith would not of been in Chicago all day Monday thinking Fred was there.

That was a great interview. I have a new perspective on this decision, and I figured I would after hearing what Fred had to say.

Leaving the program in good shape is very admirable. He could have waited a yr, won a title and then dumped us.

Yeah that would've been awful

I would have taken the title if I had my choice.

The new coach could just as easily win a title with this team and that success could help the new coach in recruiting. Fred staying one more year with 7 potential open scholies next year for the new coach would of hurt the program big time.

Thought it was a great interview. Still don't believe the "it wasn't decided until 2 days ago" stuff though. But he has to say that since the Bulls still had a coach last week.

I do believe it was a difficult decision to leave ISU and the players. But I dont think he necessarily loved the college game. But he did love ISU and the players.

Just as easily? Fred's a known quantity at this point, a damn good coach. That's why he's coaching the Bulls. Who knows what the hell we'll end up with for a coach next year. Besides, my comment really wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Regardless of coach, a national title is still a longshot next year. That's why I'd gladly take the national title and have Fred leave the cupboard bare.

I'll more than happily say I am in the GTFO camp only because it took too long. This was in the works for awhile. I love me some Fred and would take him back in heartbeat(no pun intended). It has affected recruiting IMO. But whatevs. Who is the new coach? I need info!

You are mad at Fred because the Bulls were doing everything they could to take a dump on Thibs? Hoiberg had zero control over the timing of this. If you are mad at him for going against his dream job comments or something else I can see that, but the timing of this was 100% on the Bulls and 0% on Fred.
