Hoiberg says it would be great to get the Bulls to Ames for an exhibition game.

Yes, please make love to your new boyfriend on my couch in front of me. I don't think Fred gets it.

IIRC, that wasn't Fred's idea - it was proposed to him in a question from a reporter. So of course he's just going to nod and say, "sure" because saying anything else would just upset even more people.

Hoiberg should never be allowed to work the sidelines in Hilton ever again. He made his choice... it's time to cut ties.

I don't see how anybody can be overly bitter at Fred for having the press conference. Like he said, he might not have done it if he had known so many Iowa media were going to Chicago. So. he could have cancelled it, but he didnt. Thought he was pretty receptive to answering all the questions, including the several on TJ. Did a good job of supporting TJ as a coach, but at the same time not tipping anything as to he'd be the hire. There was alot of people he could have specifically thanked or other questions to answer, but the media seemed to be intent to make this about TJ, unfortunately, but expected I guess. Afterall, it is what's next and its a big hire. Was hoping someone would have asked him if he was surprised at the pool of candidates as if it could be splashier.

He should have no input and I don't care who he thinks should be our next coach. He is head coach of the Bulls. He is no longer employed by ISU.

As I said earlier this week, I think it was a dumb idea to come back and do a press conference. I feel even more that way now.

"Hey guys.... I love it here, but I did look into numerous other jobs over the years, just so you know. I'm a hot commodity. Hopefully someone can come in here and do great things here, just like I did. I'll even treat you guys to Bulls exhibition game right here in Hilton so you can all watch me coach one more time. Wouldn't that be awesome?".

"Oh, and just when I should be putting in a ton of work to get ready for the grueling NBA season this fall, I'm going to come back here for some football games, so you can all get to see me again, AND so I can still do all the things I loved doing while I was here, without actually having to coach your basketball team anymore. It will just be so great for all of us, right?".

Wrong Fred. Just go and do your NBA thing. You have chosen to leave this university behind, so just go. Go make all your money and live happily ever after. It's like you love everything about Iowa State, except coaching their basketball team. You quit on these guys before accomplishing basically any of your goals. Go live your "dream". It's like college kids that go back home every weekend and hang out at their old high school. Don't do it.... just move on.

I just have to laugh at the bitter, creepy vibes some of you put out on here. Believe me, you are not a very good representation of the Cyclone fanbase as a whole. Especially those of us in Ames that have known him for a long time. Cut ties with him? Comparing him to an ex-girlfriend? You are some sad and pathetic people. Maybe get a new hobby? Maybe don't hang out on here so much? I don't know. Just time to rethink your priorities.

The thing I found odd that he said in both his Chicago and Ames press conference is how important it was to get Paige through high school. Am I the only one that would think screw you if I were Jack? He's going to be a junior.

It is very obvious to me that Fred never had to make a move like this when he was his boys age. I would love to know what the stats would be if you were to ask kids of that age that had to move, how many were happy they did. I would believe happy would be very low percentage.

So you're saying you would never go back to your super hot ex that bought you tons of good stuff and took you tons of good trips? I would jump right back in to bed.

I'm convinced some fans on here really don't understand the magnitude and opportunity of the NBA...

Some people on here are just giant dicks. You can be mad that he is gone but he doesn't deserve any of this hate. People saying he shouldn't come back for football games are crazy.. he is an alum for God's sake! He can and will do whatever he wants and will get a giant applause if he is acknowledged regardless of what your opinion is. End rant.

My personal theory is he'll never coach here again unless Chicago goes incredibly bad and we have an opening. But I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him come back someday when he's done coaching, perhaps as an athletic director.

Why would you want an AD with no experience in college athletics administration?

Fundraising role? Fine. AD? No way.

We are one Greg McDermott away from 100% of fans wishing Fred would be back.

I already wish Fred was back. I'm sure most do. I'm sure we always will.

But Fred is choosing to make his bed and quit on this team he's assembled. That's his problem now. It's almost as if he already regrets making this decision because he still wants to have a lot of the things he had while he was here, just not the coaching job.

In September he shouldn't be coming back to ISU football games. He should be getting ready for a fast approaching NBA season. My gut says he's not 100% into this decision at all.

Like most coaches at his level.... he has one HUGE ego. I didn't think he did, but boy does he ever.
