People complaining about CPR apparently are young or have short term memories because this statement is very true.
Link? I think that is just speculation as I've seen no proof. That said, I don't mind Leath's involvement either.
I don't get the hate on Leath. Pollard was set to hire his undeserving friend with no search process. Leath told him to do a search. Pollard did a search which included Otz, and it turned out that Otz wasn't the best choice available.
I think it's great the President told the AD to do his job and not half *** it.
Who leaked the story to Rothstein if not Jamie?
There seemed to be a lot of leaks the past month.

That was the very first one. And it was way before the others. And it really doesn't benefit anyone except JP if he was wanting to hire him.

So the leaks about CFH status happened after he took the Bulls job. What about the search firm leaks that happen a week before Fred left.
AbdelmassihWho leaked the story to Rothstein if not Jamie?
What? May 29th this article was leaked by a source presumably in the AD http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...ssistant-tj-otzelberger-has-support-of-isu-ad
That's 5 days before Fred was announced as the HC.
Pollard supposedly visited the search firm the week before, but that doesn't mean he wasn't zoned in on TJ. For all we know he had the firm send out feelers, and nothing was good enough to deter him from TJ at first glance so he sent that info to Rothstein. Who knows.
I just don't understand who would benefit from Rothstein putting that article out other than JP wanting to pump up his current favorite. Follow that thread and you'll find the answers.
I don't think Leath was a big **** and forced a huge rift between them, I just think he probably mandated that there be a real search with other options seriously considered. And I think JP was open minded enough to see the merit in that once he went through with everything.
A June 2 CBSsports.com story said sources claimed Cyclones assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger had the “full support” of Pollard to replace Hoiberg, but Leath wanted to hire “a brand name.”
“He feels the level of the job has changed since Fred got here,” Rothstein quoted a source as saying. “He wants to bring in someone with some pedigree. It’s a battle of wills right now.”
Pollard bristled at that here Tuesday, saying “there’s no truth to that at all. I have my theory why and how that got out. That doesn’t matter because I’m past it. But it was frustrating because that impacted (Leath), that impacted me, that impacted the players, that impacted the candidates.
“That’s really unfortunate because it was total garbage. Whoever planted that had an agenda, and that’s for their life to live.
“There was a lot of misinformation to waste peoples’ energy.”

How does Matt benefit from that? Why would he have bad blood with the AD?
1. He gives Rothstein a source so he can write something, which will get paid back later when he wants to get some St. Johns stuff out there.
2. He doesn't have bad blood with the AD, he wants to help Otz (and all the other staff members who would have kept their job if Otz was hired).
This is entirely plausible.
But how did Matt A know about the disagreement between JP and Leath? Presumably there's another source that's feeding info to Matt A. Whether that's TJ or someone else.
