@TravisHines21: Ernst said he doesn’t plan to redshirt this season despite having ACL surgery in March.

Guess he's not

Didn't even realize this guy was on the radar. 247Sports shows Wisconsin on his list of interested schools.

Likely this is a Danyial Robinson guy because it also shows he had interest from Loyola.

As he was driving on I-80 past exit #242 Ernst said "I have always wanted to play at the highest level. "

TJ saw something he liked with this kid. TJ tends to have a pretty good eyeball for under the radar kids.

Would really like to see him redshirt. Iowa kids tend to be hard workers, let him build up some strength and could be ready to go by his redshirt sophomore year.

They also tend to be gym rats and real students of the game. They are often scrappy as well.

this is a major reach. I dont think he had a single other D1 offer left on the table, let alone high major.

When I first saw this I got excited because I'm officiating at Clinton next year. Didn't realize he'd already graduated, darn it!

My opinion: The Greek isn't coming back and we needed a big practice body. With so many people leaving after this year it's not like we're tight on scholarships. I don't think he'll ever be a major contributor or anything but when you only play 7 or 8 guys it doesn't really matter.

Yep. Not a lot of risk here and some potential as a roll player by junior/senior year.

We know that. Not expecting big minutes out of the guy. I just hope he can match up with those Top 250 forwards Fran is bringing in.

Now go away.

I like it. Iowa boy. One less guy tearing us up for the Bulldogs or Panthers. Nice athleticism for a big.

My thoughts exactly, I'd rather take a chance on a guy who can give us depth and maybe develop in to something useful for us. Rather than let UNI grab him and have him go off for 20 and 10 against us. I hope he can be of some use for us moving forward!

Wow.

He is a filler guy, we will need for the PS assuming Gorgious is not coming back. If he happens to turn into a reliable role player, then that's a win-win.
