I guess that's possible if you charge more for singles than $33 but you might not get the other $33 later. I think your scenario is only valid if you can get $50 per seat in the endzone for uni and iowa. Otherwise you possibly lose out on the other game.

These are only the endzone seats.

haven't they gotten $100 hillside tickets for Iowa in the past? I'd say you could get $50 for the Iowa and UNI games pretty easily, especially if you don't mind selling to the enemy.

I'm surprised at the people choosing Texas over TCU. I guess Texas is homecoming which does make sense.

I went for possibly watching the national title contender vs a 5-0 isu. :) Game day in Ames? Don't say never.

1. Homecoming.
2. We have a snowball's chance in h3ll of actually winning, which is more than I can say for the TCU game.

I don't remember hillside ever having a face value of 100$ for any game, but I could be wrong on that. They have refused to sell hillside tickets to non-donors/season ticket holders for the Iowa game before.

I don't see the big deal here. I see this as the AD taking a slight hit on the face price for the UNI/Iowa game (but not as much as you'd think, these are upper deck SEZ tickets after all) to ensure they get a better price for some of the conference games. Let's not forget that even in good years there have been 5$ hillside ticket promotions to fill up the stadium. Hell I l think #2 OSU in 2011 was one such deal.

There's also probably some marketing going on here, JP banking on that this team will be an improvement and getting some of those people who didn't renew back to a few games to get them back in the fold next year.

I was a first time season ticket buyer last year and didn't renew this year. With donation and only 2 seats, it was just too expensive given that we bought a fixer upper house last fall. I would have been sick if I'd gotten season tickets this year and this deal popped up.

It could be an effort to grow the base as well, since these are all non-donor sections. Get people into two of the rowdiest, most emotional games (for the same price per game as a full non-donor season ticket) and hope that prompts them to buy full season tickets the following year. Or better yet, start donating and buying season tickets. Plus, he's packing the stadium for the first two games against teams that we really need to beat to have any hope for a decent season. Even if some Hawkeye fans show up, it the crowd will still be strongly in favor of ISU.

No...they have not. Hawk fans got upset when they had to buy other games to get an iowa ticket. Pollard wouldn't sell single game tickets and it made them mad.

I don't see this as losing any money off of those sales or very little loss. I think he knew isu fans would be more likely to buy these than uni or Iowa fans.

And again these are at face value or above based on season ticket options.

Donors still have first pick for singles in the donor section. So it's not that big of a deal

1000 available total in the NEW ENDZONE SECTIONS. In fact, last I checked it added up to 972, so less than 1000. If you don't believe me, add it up yourself.

Ribs I think the total mini-packs available is closer to 2650. The SEZ lowers went from 1642 available on Friday to 417 available yesterday and the uppers went from 1876 to 450. I believe they are retaining the remaining seats for final seasons ticket sales and individual ticket sales. But I could be wrong:unsure:

Hmm, I have about 10 minutes left to decide on these. How bad is the view from L and K (or the lower level there for that matter)?

You're probably right. I didn't have the before #'s. Probably should just keep my mouth shut from now on.
