Angie, if usage of light is the main part, I'd definitely go with 3 and 5.
That's my vote too, but I know nothing about photography.

I like 1 & 5 and I was also yearbook photographer back in the old days (1968)
I like the biography idea. I love hearing/reading about my great-grandparents experienced and lived through - the thresher coming through, describing the steps for the Virginia reel, my great-grandma riding her horse in winter to teach are a couple they have written down. I'm sure at the time they wouldn't have thought anyone would possibly be interested in knowing any of that. Same as I feel about my life today. But future generations will likely find it interesting to know about our day to day activities.
You guys are awesome. I like seeing what different people like! It makes me think that they don't suck too terribly!
They all suck. Those ones just suck the least.
(I kid! I really like #5 if we're talking personal preference.)
It's amazing how much more you can do when you learn about aperture and ISO, etc.!
I would love to even be able to change my own oil.
My great aunt who wrote her life story was also a teacher. Rode her horse to the one room school house. Nothing about dance steps or the thresher though.
yeah the horse story was that it slipped on ice, broke a leg, she had to walk back to home to get a gun. Then went and taught.
her mom was a midwife so she had stories about that as well. The mom had a hysterectomy performed on her on the dining room table. We have pictures of great-grandma from the 20's and she was a looker. She had the short hair and everything. Just stunning. So yeah, label those pics so we can know who we are admiring decades later!
My relative's horse story was she was riding home after school one day and a portion of the trip was along railroad tracks. A train came along and blew it's whistle so the horse spooked and she fell off and had to walk like 6 miles home. I think it was the springtime. She got home about midnight. And when she got there the horse was already there.
FWIW Angie I really like #5. Reason being for your homework assignment is that with all the shadows that are included the tree in the foreground really stands out. Really good picture that I would hang in my house for sure.
You made my day! Thank you so much, it is genuinely awesome to hear that. I am so surprised at the love for #5, I thought I was the only one who liked it.![]()
Absolutely not. It is amazing. I would love to see more as you progress. Especially if this is your "beginner" work.
I'll jump in on also liking #5. They all look good in my amateur opinion though
As for my interest I always loved doing sketches when I was younger. I just don't take the time to sit down and do them anymore. Maybe this will get me back into it...
