I don't expect we will strike completely out on HS kids. Between Horne, Simpson, Tyler Cook and Lindy Waters, I think we land at least 1-2 and then we will still look for 1-2 plan B types.

We need to build some depth back up with HS kids. Transfer recruiting is getting very competitive, although this year our playing time available should help make us attractive.

Yeah we have to get 2/4 of those guys you listed. I don't see a problem getting that done.

I couldn't/could/shant care less about HS kids. They are nice for the uneducated masses and to battle hok fans with, but I'll take transfers all day e'ry day.

I understand what you are getting at but I just want the best players we can get. I could care less where they came from.

I support that attitude. I just don't like it when some fanz are like: "no HS recruits so recruiting is a failure/we're not good at recruiting".

I want to land our Option A/B+ players regardless of where they come from.

The funny part is that people were saying that when we were going after only 5 star kids. We pretty much stopped talking to all other recruits to focus on Vaughn and Diallo. Unfortunatly 2nd place doesn't get you much when it comes to recruiting.

For 2016 though I do think we need at least two HS kids. With Xavier Simpson, Lindy Waters, Eli Wright, Jeriah Horne, Tyler Cook and a few others I don't think we'll have a problem landing at least a couple of those. Throw in a couple Juco's (Maluo, Arlando Cooke or Marlon Jones) with a couple of transfers and we will have depth for the next few years.

He's fairly accurate. We have offered more people in the last 3 months than Fred offered in the last 3 years.

We'll see how it works out, but completely missing in the HS market as we did recently was not sustainable.

Again, I doubt we can land 5-6 players each year, which is what you will have to do if you totally miss on the HS market each year.

I'm not saying we didn't recruit anyone else while recruiting them but the last few months of each of their recruitings we really cooled on everyone else. That could be because a lot of players sign earlier than April so we were not recruiting as many kids at the time. But we did cut off contact with whoever was left when Vaughn and Diallo were both still open.

SIAP, but who knows anything about 2016 6'9" power forward from Spirit Lake , Ryan Kreiner? Noticed that Missouri and Wichita State have offerred. Is it somebody we've missed, or passed on, or haven't seen him possibly move up as far as level of play? Have no knowledge as to if he's a potential high major or not. Jw.

He's a 2-3* recruit as of right now. Mizzou is known to go after guys like this as of recently, and for WSU I always feel that they recruit and develop talent (for that mid-major level) well. Maybe they feel like he has some intangibles that they can mold into a solid PF for them, I really don't know. But he doesn't seem that impressive and we haven't really ever seemed interested in him. And if we wanted him I feel like we could get him, so my guess is that we passed on.

It's fine when you say this as a general statement, but just don't get too specific.... "I like 15 year olds..."

I'd say he's a HM player, with a list of several HM schools with serious interest or close to offering. The thing is that while he may have some HM offers or interest, they're HMs like Mizzou, DePaul, Wichita St (technically not HM), Iowa, Texas Tech etc. While I think he is a HM prospect with a nice game I'd say he is more of an option for down the road if we miss on some front court targets. He has been blowing up this eval period so it wouldn't surprise me to see him pick up some more offers soon. And FWIW we're listed on his rivals page as interested.

Unless they are super HS players, I do not expect as much from them the first two years. Older guys seem to get it done better and picking up proven transfers gives me a warm fuzzy. We will see how this large group next year works out. Probably need a total of eight players. Fred did not offer that many kids because he was going after the better players unlike McD who offered both go0od and bad players.

Plays in the same conference as my son and they are friends. I personally don't think he is a HM player. Heard he is just waiting for the Iowa offer. Also plays for the same aau program as my son and he had an Iowa coach at almost every game. Minnesota and Clemson also were keeping tabs on him.

I really don't get the kids that throw all their eggs in one basket. This sounds a little similar to the weiskamp kid who committed to Iowa as soon as he got the offer. Obviously growing up in Iowa contributed to that decision but the Hoks? This happens a lot too so I'm not surprised, just seems a little rash.

They're fans. How is that hard to understand?

What is hard to understand about going to school where you've always wanted to go to school?
