I feel like X may commit to Illinois this weekend
Don't jinx it I feel we still are the favorite, but Illinois will get some interest from him that's for sure his dad has connections there. But I feel X and his dad know Prohm is a PG Guro and thus is a better teacher and developer for the potential NBA.

If he was smart, he would stay the heck away from Illinois. If Groce doesnt win this year, he'll be gone. Illinois' athletic department is in shambles.

Illinois hosting anyone for anything this weekend is probably going to be weird.

I hope I'm wrong, but I feel the uncertainty of Monte going pro is hurting us.

I hate it when a potential all-american point guard stays for his senior year. How could things get any worse?

Players come and players go…...

That's not what I meant, I should have worded it better, but I was thinking of perceived playing time next year.

I know what you meant, just kidding.

I want X as much as anyone but that's just one of those things.

He's not a big kid at all, hard to believe he's a 40 minutes a game guy at any of the places he's looking at.

He's good, he'll play whether Monte's here or not.

Obligatory statement of a recruit who leaves without commiting.

@aroux94: 2016 PG Xavier Simpson's father: "We've got some other visits set up. Who knows, some of them may be cancelled. We did like Illinois a lot."

I cant be the only one that cringes when you hear a father use the term "we" when discussing his kids recruitment

No, it makes perfect sense. Both he and his son will be going on the visits. Both he and his son can have opinions of schools.

I agree. Parents should be involved in their child's recruitment... these are teenagers. It's much better than X not having a parent involved.

that doesn't mean that the Dad isn't/ won't be overbearing or self-serving - just ridiculous to think he won't/ shouldn't be involved in the decision.

Prefer helicopter dads to shady middlemen
This. Parents should be involved in the recruiting process to some extent. AAU coaches, mentors, and the worst of them all, "handlers" should not be.

you are not alone.
I do agree that it's his father and not an AAU coach so it's better but as a father of a college child I don't think I'd ever use the term "we" in that same setting. We went on college visits together but I had nothing to do with the final decision and if the destination was free I'd have even less to say about it. :)

In the end I don't really care but he asked if anyone else cringes and I guess I'm one that does

So since everyones comments went into left field there. So I feel this is how it is going to play out. He will cancel the rest of visits and it will be a dog fight against ISU vs Illinois in whom he picks! I think it will be ISU bc of Prohms track record and our fanbase, but who knows.

Relevance?
Truth is if I say any more it will sound like I care more than I do. He asked if anyone else cringes and I do. Nothing more, nothing less. I'd be glad if THEY choose to go to ISU.

I hope Moore pulls a fast one and commits to Illinois before Simpson pulls the trigger. Just wishful thinking.

Bc you're a father of a girl. You didn't have a say in it anyway.
