For what purpose? What's the market for this jet? Carrier landings? Passenger transport?

Huge commercial jet. With the folding wings they are learning from Airbus on the A380. Planes that big need gigantic wings which can't fit into the infrastructure at most airports. This severely limits the number of destinations you can fly to.

So you fold the wing up and you can fit into the current infrastructure.

We ran into that on cruise ships. RCC keeps building them bigger, but now they can't dock in probably 50% of the international ports, so you have to use tenders to get to shore. It's a pain, because you have to stand in line, the tenders are crowded, and depending on the popularity of the port, the vendors have a limited number of "good" boats, so then you start getting the smaller, open air tenders. By the time you get to shore, you're covered in sticky salt spray...and occasionally someone's vomit on your shoes (they are not a very smooth ride).

That CNE guy in the cave is truly something special. I picture him as the guy at the mall standing next to the Orangle Julius and having an argument with himself.

Most of the time I disagree with his thoughts, but every now & again he says something I actually agree with. But yeah...some of the folks in the cave are absolutely blinded by their partisanship. They're quick to point out the faults of the "other side" all the while remaining entirely oblivious to their own. Some of the really bad ones, I just have to walk away. They're only their to shout their opinions, not to discuss, debate, or engage...

I've decided not to post in that thread.
