I think having them in as a group could be a nice advantage.
I feel we could get up to 2 commitments out of this weekend. Wonder if Prohm holds off on Strong until he finds out about Simpson? As well I feel there will be a spot kept open for the highly thought after Malou!

You take Strong without question. First come, first served.

I know it's a longshot to get both White and Curry. But if they did both commit before Malou, is there a risk that we would lose Malou? We'd be pretty set at the forward positions, unless Prohm wanted to play three forwards and no true center.

Big news.

@EvanDaniels: Four-star PG Xavier Simpson will announce his college choice on Wednesday, he tells Scout. Visited Wisconsin & Illinois recently.

I would be convinced he never visit here if his next visit was not Iowa. Something about that school scares away basketball recruits unless they are desperate or life long hawk fans. And he is neither one.

Am I the only one after reading that article that senses we probably won't see Tyler Cook here eventually for an 'official' visit? Hopefully I'm wrong. And, yes, I already know he's visited unofficially.

Seeing as strong is visiting this weekend, you can take it two ways. Simpson is going to commit before his spot is filled, or we are bringing strong in for a visit because we know we're out with Simpson

Strong's visit was set before the news that Simpson would make his decision announcement Wednesday. Simpson may not choose ISU, but the timing of Strong's visit is in no way related to Simpson's announcement or "knowing we're out" with him.

Is there a limit on official visits that we can host in a given year? If a kid wants to use one of his limited officials coming to Ames then why would we turn him away? You never know what is going to happen in the future in the transfer market.

Opinions on plan if Simpson and Strong are misses? Other PGs on horizon versus looking at other positions?

I imagine the plan would be to have Cooke and Jackson man the point exclusively and then go for a 2017 PG. Just my guess.

I have seen just a small amount of Malou video, but seems to me he could play SF as his primary position. He might prefer that from an NBA development standpoint. HS post players usually don't come in ready to play 30 mpg. So I think Young, Curry and White as a group makes alot of sense to go with Malou, Jackson and Simpson or Strong.

I think you will see them crank up the attention on Jordan Bone now. Probably Strong, Bone, transfer options and then if we miss on all or there isn't a transfer option turn to 2017 and we should have an appealing situation for a good HS PG with Jackson and Cooke both being SR's in 2017-18.

I would agree with others I feel we would then go after a 2017 PG bc we all have to remember that SG Jackoby Long is interested and visiting. So he could take that "PG" scholarship spot

I think it's 50/50 MM is back, so you would be fine for 16...2017 you would have Jackson and would need to have brought in your freshman of the future or another Juco PG....
