Sure sounds like the gurus are favoring Minnesota for Curry. Looking at the rosters above, they have a lot of juniors giving Curry his freshmen year w/them and then favorable playing time. As for A. Cook, White, Horne, etc..... they see Young, Carter, & Malou all listed as PF's. Guessing they (not us) feel the cupboard is full. Still hoping for that mid-year transfer to fall in our lap.
Oops, my bad. Just looked at a 100% crystal ball prediction for Curry to Arkansas. Either way, Minn. or Arkansas, seems to be trumping us. Plus, I think we'd have heard more 'scuttlebutt' on him by now. (Note: CW hasn't offered to go on vacation.)

Yes, we know that, but all the sites still list him as a PF, and a 6'9" one. The other PF recruits probably aren't going to believe he'll be a 3. Thus they started making decisions to go elsewhere almost immediately after Malou announced for us, imo.
I don't think that's a given. It'll come down to whether he can man up on opponents 3s effectively. Considering that a lot of college teams use a third guard as the 3, he may end up playing more of a finesse 4 for us. We'll have to wait and see.
Well don't feel good about Curry! I feel Amir can lure him in to play with him. So like posted we will all find out on Wends
Seems to be the consensus he'll mostly play the 4 for us, though. Somewhat like a Georges role (probably without handling the ball like a point guard, though).
For an offense like ours who plays small, even if his game more closely resembles a 3, he will play our 4 and even 5 spot.
Regardless of the fact that he's perimeter orientated on offense he could end up being our starting "5" where he has to defend the opposing 5 spot.

Why any good player would want to play at Minnesota is beyond me. The arena is a dump. Its last 20 years of basketball have all but sucked. I get Coffey wants to stay home. I get that but curry leaving a great wchool like Arkansas or passing on Iowa State a top 10 team with playing time? Thats nuts to me.
Do you think recruits are reading his position on websites and making decisions based on that? Are they unable to talk to our coaching staff?
The cubard isn't full but it isn't empty either. Getting Carter (who had similar offers to A. Cook and Curry) really took the pressure off the necessity of front court. Malou can toggle between SF/PF as needed. Prob more PF next year due to the presence of Burton.
Getting Curry would be great, but if not I am sure the staff will evaluate and find another option or two posts be it JC, HS or Transfer to round out the class over the next year.
Sure they talk to our staff. That's like talking to politicians for 'some' of them. They hear everything possible from coaches everywhere. Hearing them is one thing, believing them is another.
Like everyone, I hope that some of these recruits committing now find their way to ISU, but if not........let's not forget that there is an entire high school/junior college basketball season ahead, not to mention a few hundred transfers that will be available from the college ranks next year (some immediately eligible), so even if ISU does not land any of these committing now.....there will still be plenty of opportunities to build next year's team. There will be good players at all levels who are on no one's radar right now. No matter what happens now, Prohm and this staff have a very good start to next year's class.
Yeah, I agree. The Goofs under Pitino had a good 1st year - but were tied at 10th in the B1G last year. This leads me to wonder if Daddy P has been helping him out (directly or indirectly). There is a fraternity of coaches and wonder if the Pitino name just happens to open up a ton of more doors than a typical coach (even ones who have much more experience and success than a son of a coaching legend). How could you experience the Barn and then experience Hilton, analyze the past 5 years, and still pick Minny over the Clones or another equally successful program? Doesn't make a lot of sense.
One think I've really enjoyed about this year's recruiting is how early all of these recruits are making their decisions. I don't know if it is due to the type of recruits we are going after, or just random luck. But compared to past years where we've had some of our recruits drag out their decisions until late in the spring (or even summer), this has been really nice. Even when we miss, it has been helpful because now our staff has the opportunity to regroup and focus on another batch of targets. If you miss on recruits in the spring or summer, you're usually out of luck (unless you get lucky like we did with Carter).
My guess is it's lack of 5 star/ top 50 guys we're going after, who can more afford to drag it out because spots will be held open for them.
No your right 247 has him at 67% Hogs and 33% Minnesota. Nothing on ISU so.....
