You may have a point if I said what they were. All I said was that he was fired therefore his abilities to be a principal can and should be questioned.

I am not a big fan of rumors but we have lots of unsubstantied rumors on here all the time that have much less evidence.

Actually, I don't think you said he was fired before. You said he left under circumstances. Either way, even if he was an ******* of a guy and the rumors you believe to be true are true (it seems they might not be entirely true if he got another job), he doesn't deserve to be beaten up enough to be hospitalized.

Hurl is is lucky he didn't kill anyone and it is likely that the reason he hasn't been charged yet is that the police feel he was justified.

That was my guess, but I assumed the guys involved probably didn't live far from there either since they were walking. But that makes sense since this is kid about the same age and was probably a friend.

They strike me as too lazy to walk very far, I just assumed they had a car nearby and went there with the purpose of messing with the principal.

Well actually he resigned as a matter of public record. Sure it may have been forced but it was stated by the district as resignation/ early retirement for undisclosed health reasons and to care for his ailing parents. He was given an early retirement package not a severance package. For what it's worth. Anything more is speculation.

Also am cool with some rumors in regards to Hawkeyes etc. But high schools are breeding grounds for stupid crap and as the child of an educator it sucked.

"Notice how Quills shoots Leonard below the knee, so as to avoid the attempted murder charge. That's just nice knowledge of the law right there."

Way up there
Given he was pulled over within a half mile of the Principals home....my hunch is that there is police guard/patrol around the Hutch home

To be fair, a half a mile away from the principal's house would include a large part of Glenwood, it's a small town. The street he was pulled over on is one of the main streets through town. He announced where/when he'd be in town, the police were all over this idiot right after his facebook comments. These kids all put incriminating things on fb, the one who was shot posted that Beechum only shot him bc he was mad that he got his *** kicked. Total 180 from what his lawyer (notorious sleazebag who only released the statement to try to sway public favor) said. It's sickening that there is a decent portion of people around here who are siding with McDaniel, despite witness claims and the statements he made on fb.

This story keeps getting more bizarre and dangerous. Seems some very misguided kids have a warped sense of justice.

Has anyone confirmed what started the confrontation?

Yeah, this is what I've been wondering. What happened that brought on this apparent need for vigilante justice?

These charges will never stick. 2nd Amendment forever "from my cold dead hands."

Why do we have conceal and carry laws if you can't shoot people who want to fight you?

We'll see how badly the DA stacks the jury pool. Would like to be on that one. Just ask yourself how much of an investigation would there be if a cop had done what Hurl did? About two days paid vacation. But I suppose they get away with gunning down people running away all the time.

The story doesn't even say he was running. Says he was shot while kicking him. Even if he was running though none of the charges make sense except the willful injury. Armed with intent, intimidation with a weapon etc. Isn't that what anyone would do if some punks had atracked a family member and yourself. I mean if someone enters your property, knocks out the homeowner and is beating the son up this seems to me to be one of the few justified (imo) uses of weapons. If he did shoot him after retreat then the willful injury charge is likely justified even if it sucks given the circumstances.

Edit: never mind if the register account is accurate and when he returned with the gun I think the willful injury charge is valid as the threat was no longer there. He may not have known that as he went inside and so if he was just attacked the intimidation and carrying a weapon with intent seem unfounded. Like always though maybe they probably loaded up charges to give leverage to work a plea.

It is a good point, what is the point of a conceal and carry law if you are not able to protect yourself or family? If someone came to my house and was attacking my family, I would probably shoot them (if i had a gun........instead i have 2 german shorthairs that are very protective).
