Glass half full. Still annoying we couldn't at least get one of those games.

Finishing hasn't really ever been a strength of Cyclone Football teams in my memory, the exception maybe being the 2011 team that won almost every game they were able to keep close.

Not predicting any win number but we have a lot of winnable games left. Even TCU didn't look good against Minn. The league is not as good as in past years. We will be in the position to win a few more this year. Hoping we have a winning mind set.

It is really disgusting how this team ****** away a potential bowl season by screwing up that Toledo game. We dominated that team. Really disgusted. But...decent teams find a way to win close game. Difference in winning and losing is a very fine line a lot.

One quarter away from 4-0? You mean one quarter back away from 4-0?

The league is about what they have been the last few seasons. Perhaps even a little better with the improvement of Texas Tech and WVU. Certainly not worse than any other league. Lot of parity this year in CFB. Unfortunately ISU isn't improved enough to take advantage.

4-0 is a stretch but certainly should have beat Toledo. Beat them in almost every way, except where it matters - points.

A quarter of football. Tied well into the fourth with Iowa, and a kick against Toledo. That is how close the line is between winning and losing.

I think this is the biggest problem with the offense right now, they just need to finish drives. They moved the ball well against Toledo, Kansas, and the first half of Iowa, so they can do it. They just need to punch it in to the endzone!

The team 2 years ago lost something like 5 games by a TD or less. So CPR teams certainly do know how to lose those close games. Of course there have been some exceptions (OK State etc) but in general losing so many close games is big concern.

Totally agree that it is a very fine line. I remember a few years back the hawks were gloating during their season that they were only seven points combined from being undefeated. However, they were only four points from being a 500 team.....winning requires talent, no doubt, but there is also an element of luck too.

I'd say we finished pretty strong against OSU...

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry fuggin Christmas.

You can wish in one hand, and $h!t in the other, see which one fills up first.

I don't care how you slice it, saying we're X away from Y....we're 2-2 in the 4 easiest games of the season. If ISU FB wants to go bowling consistently, they have to make hay in the non-conference. The talent is there...they better learn to find a way to win instead of finding an excuse to lose against someone other than Kansas.

Well we lost last year to KU......so there's that.
