A quarterback has to take some risks to win at ISU, says everyone but Rhoads.
Throwing a football to a 6'5 5 star starting WR being defended by a 5'10 guy is not a risk.

I'm surprised how many people just figured this out today. It has been obvious for years that is what is going on. Every QB under Rhoads has had the same progression once they get a couple starts. Richardson is not and has never been the problem. The coaching is the problem.
SR has made some very good throws. Problem is........for every 1 or 2 of them, there is a WTF throw. This is expected of a freshman or maybe even a seldom played sophmore. But not a fifth year senior. Don't know if it's mental because of self destruction or bad coaching. Either way it's sad to see him go out like this. This is NOT what we see consistently out of Richardson. The poster was correct, most of the time he over throws receivers to where they can't even make a play on it.
Too justify why Lanning didn't play again? To me, this has nothing to do with Sam vs Lanning.
This has to do with recruiting a stud in Allen Lazard. A 6'5 beast. You recruit him to be a difference maker on your team. Well, he had single coverage, Lanning made the right read and let the STUD go make a play. He did and turned it into 6.
Instead of simply saying it was a great play by Lazard, he says it's a pass that shouldn't have been made. Why?
Charter is wrong you're sarcasm meter isn't broken, just needs a tune up.I'm guessing/hoping this is sarcasm
"wasn't his fault"
This is the same coach who punted on 4th and 3 in TCU territory down 10 to play field position. Oh yeah, he did it last year against TCU too, in the first half while we were still in the game to gain 20 yards of field position. Its like he is oblivious to our opponent and the game situation.
I thought the play before the punt was bad too. ISU's best deal all night had been going downhill, and they throw it sideways on 3rd and 3 for no gain.
The option in the 2nd quarter is kind of on its own since that didn't make any sense either.
"probably not a ball that should have been thrown."
I thought is was a good back shoulder pass to our best receiver who then made a heck of a play to shake loose for a td.
on top of that if you don't understand that play should be made how can you possibly coach the defense against it. No wonder the D backs start out 10 yards from the receiver.Lazard had 8 inches on that guy and was in single coverage. That throw should be made frequently (its called exploiting a mismatch, watch other teams do it to us). To even come close to implying that its a throw that should not be made speaks to why this offense has been so horrible for 7 years.
In the last two weeks he's made two comments that really seemed disoriented and out of touch with reality. Unless he saving Lanning for homecoming It's time for rhoads to go.
Could?Damage control by CPR....pretty ham handed at that.
CPR is a good man and he has to be feeling the pressure at this point. While I am no clone fan by any means I've met the guy and he's a very nice dude who is passionate about the clones. It's too bad Baylor is next and not KSU or another winnable game.....could start getting ugly.
