Now that argument for a mid season firing doesn't look all that bad

Good lord, I had totally forgotten that on top of the catch and TD run that there was also a flag on TCU. Yup, throwing that pass was maybe such a BAD idea!

Must ....find...meds....need...to...sedate....myself.

The guy tried to ******* tackle Lazard before the ball even got there because he knew he had no shot. Lanning threw a strike to the perfect spot., and Lazard made an amazing play to catch and break the tackle. It was the best play in the passing game we've had all year! THAT'S IT, IM GOIN ALL CAPS IM SO ******!

Sam made two or three back shoulder throw passes to Lazard the last two games. Is Paul saying Sam is allowed and Joel not allowed to throw back shoulder passes to Lanning. No wonder our team is a joke, because the coaches are losing it. Jesus Mary and Joseph.

Yeah, I think Lanning is getting way more credit than he deserves for the throw. Because Lazard was the one who made it a touchdown. But I really don't get the idea that he shouldn't have thrown it? Even if their grading showed there was another receiver that was more open why would you say that?

I just rewatched a clip of this play... While Lazard was not "open", it was a fantastic throw to a spot where only Lazard was going to make a play on that ball.

Like everyone else has already said... This is a stupid comment from Rhoads, and he is just covering his *** since Lanning never played after that, which was even more stupid.

I've been under the impression for the last few years that our offense struggles mostly due to Rhoads, who clearly knows nothing about offense, having way too much say in what happens offensively. This definitely fuels that suspicion.
At this point, I lay the whole offense non score events at the feet of CPR. What a dunce.

Sam either throws behind the reciever or throws it a mile over their head or at their ankles , he can't throw to a reciever on the run, wake up Paul

Anyone get JP's 2 cents on this??

I'm guessing this is how it went down...

Saturday after play: probably high 5ing and stroking the donors, excited and "SO PROUD" of our team and coaches, "WE MIGHT BEAT TCU!!"

Monday after presser: Our coaching staff knows best, and if they feel it was a ball that shouldn't have been thrown that's probably the case

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope President Leath does something with this Circus act real soon

It's starting to look like maybe he's trying to throw it away, since there are really only 1 or 2 passes per game that "Should Be Thrown."

We ran that play with Richardson several times for big gains on Saturday. Including this one on the very next series...

I've posted it lots of times but Richardson isn't the problem. Our coaching staff if the problem and I don't want them screwing up Lanning too.

Didn't he mean it as being a tough throw to make. And if it had been to somebody else, it probably wouldn't have been caught?

I mean, it was a long pass to a heavily covered receiver (so heavy they threw a flag), but Lazard made a great catch, threw his defender to the ground and scored. About 90% of the effort on that play was him.

He probably wanted him to lob it into triple coverage about 5 yards down on the other side of the field.

The pass was a rope and right on the money. It was better than any pass Sam has thrown this year.

Am I in a cave police thread? If Lanning doesn't throw it then there is no 90%. The 10% is just as important as the 90%.

Sam has played poorly but don't entirely whitewash his season that way. His two first half td throws against Iowa were lasers right on the money between coverage.

Back on topic. I would really love to see the detailed, step by step plan Paul laid out to Jamie that earned him the job. What part of the plan was punishing players for doing well?

This is NOT what we see consistently out of Richardson. The poster was correct, most of the time he over throws receivers to where they can't even make a play on it.

Well, it appears Sam may be coached to throw any somewhat covered throw away.
