Wonder if he will still get 3 game suspension or if a game or two will get knocked off?

Will be really interesting. If suspended, he can be cut or traded after this year and his guaranteed money goes away. So if Vikings aren't paying him long term he could be moved either this year or before the season in 26'

I can't imagine them cutting him. Not for a DUI.

They've got him for two more cheap years on his rookie contract, plus the option of another.
Potentially a trade candidate, I suppose. It they got the right offer. But he's young, cheap, and talented. Teams are willing to overlook a lot of shenanigans if someone has those three qualities.

I just could see them moving him prior to the start of 26'. Trying to pay a WR 2 big money while also keeping everyone else happy isn't easy. Feels like a luxury more than a need. If you can get more than you would with a comp pick then you do it. Plus JA feels like a guy who would hold out prior to the end of his contract vs playing it out.

There is just far too much optimism for my liking coming out of Vikings training camp... Other than Jets' minor injury, everything seems to be at or above expectations.

I think the Vikings lone chance to win the division is if Detroit regresses with their key losses this offseason. I don't see Chicago's defense as division leading caliber and Green Bay finally doesn't have a HOF QB to carry their average roster.

Honest, question, other than Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs (both lower impact positions). Are the Vikings better at every position than GB? It feels like GB is stuck in the same situation Minnesota was in for the Kirk Cousins era.. All that cap space to a good not great QB, means the rest of the roster has to get cut down!

I'd also argue Quay Walker, Edgerin Cooper, Kenny Clark, and Jordan Love (for the short term) would all be takes over what the Vikings have at those positions. I believe McCarthy will be better long term, but Jordan Love in this offense this season would automatically have media predicting us super bowl champs.

Vikings can't afford the Love contract though... Apologies if I didn't make that clear, but give me the JJ Vikings versus the Kirk Vikings rosters.

Plus the Vikings staff is better (IMO) than the Packers staff

I think the team will be better than last year but they will win 10-12 games. The schedule is a lot tougher. But that would still put them in the playoffs. Hopefully KOC can get the playoff monkey off his back this season

I agree that 10-11 seems like the right number. Other than JJ being BAD, this roster is too talented to go 8-9. Our SB window theoretically open next year and most of the core of this team is signed through next season as well!

If JJ (McCarthy) gets hurt... and with the current backup QBs... don't expect more than 6 wins. McCarthy MUST stay healthy.

Well you stated that you wouldn’t take any other packers players from a pure talent perspective across the board. Money aside those guys are all takes. I agree that McCarthy contract gives the Vikings a ton of leverage, but that also implicates the rest of the packers roster like you said.
