Bad things happen when you lower your head and the defender is going for a safe, legal tackle between the shoulder pads and the waist. Should have slid - or kept his head up.

Snapping necks for some live EFX...

With Baylor set to face the meat of their schedule, I don't feel like they are going to navigate through it unscathed if Russell is out for the duration.

But....no one expected OSU to roll to a championship with a 3rd string QB.

Briles screwed up. First there was zero reason to call a play where your star QB runs ball with 6 min to go up 15 and there is about a 1% chance Isu wins game. Baylor is screwed. No way that freshman QB makes it thru their remaining schedule. Hope he's ok.

I don't like to see anybody get hurt but Baylor is famous for running up the score so if you're doing that and calling a running play for the QB with 5 minutes lieft in the game you are exposing the player for an injury.

Injuries happen on the first or last play of a game. It's football. Most any coach in America would have still had their QB in, even ISU in the rare moments when we are up late in a game although Lanning didn't come versus Kansas till the final drive with three minutes left.

This. Let your running backs do the work of trying to grind down the rest of the clock in that situation. But, we know Baylor was pushing to try to score again rather than just burning the clock, so this is what you open your team and players up to. Just like Adrian Peterson for OU back in 2006 or whenever it was.

This is why you take your starters out when you have a big lead late in the game.

Exactly right. When Briles said they need to score another 35 in the second half, I thought he was a little full of himself. You don't need to score 70 against us to stay in the hunt. Feel sorry for the kid, but not Briles.

^^Baylor also gets to hide behind their "private" label. No one can touch them through Open/Public Records Acts. They allegedly comply w/ local police in matters regarding law enforcement. http://www.baylor.edu/dps/index.php?id=925783

But if the NCAA wants to investigate anything, Baylor essentially doesn't have to give them anything. Mostly applies to recruiting and NCAA violation potential, but same principle. NCAA can't make FOIA request for phone or email records of Baylor, for example.
