Man, I will never understand the pathetic, whiny "ISU is always screwed, NCAA does anything for Kansas talk"....I have to believe people do it to fit in now as it has become so common...makes Cyclones fans sound like a bunch of bitchy little girls.....
before you say that, give some reasonable explanation on why Thomas got to play all last season, while mckay had to wait until December

Different circumstances and the NCAA's ruling on those cases was a dart board.
They really weren't different circumstances, though. Same type of transfer, same type of reasons for transfer. The "ruling on those cases is a dart board" is exactly the point... if there's no consistency, it leads to abuse of the system and arbitrary and capricious results taht favor NCAA powerhouses, like Kansas.

I thought Thomas went through a coaching change. McKay did not. He practiced for a few days and realized he didn't like how he would fit into Buzz's system.

Are you proposing a new ncaa standard?

It's kind of ridiculous he hasn't been cleared. The kid is reportedly a good student. He got a qualifying score on ACT/SAT and has already has 6 college credits. NCAA is such a joke.

Apparently there are some over on the Kansas Scout site that think just because he speaks 3 languages he should be eligible......

They're getting that idea from Jay Bilas. He tweeted something along those lines the other day.

I have no problem if he's cleared and I hope for his sake putting my KU hate aside, he gets to play. But if someone really thinks being trilingual is a reason to be eligible....good lord.

I get where he's coming from though, because I'm sure Jay Bilas knows of some UNC players that couldn't even write their own names and still played.

For the record, I hope he's eligible. I can't wish something like that for a kid unless it's a kid that cheats or something like that.

He always came across as a pretty good kid in the recruitment process. Unless he was cheating I hope they get this cleared up and he's eligible soon.

I don't think twitter and its character count limits is the best place to get a feel for how someone feels about anything. It's built for quick news blasts and snarky comments. That's about it.

It's for academic questions. My assumption is, they're saying if an 18 year old kid knows three different languages, he's probably pretty smart and meets the requirements. It's not true or correct and has nothing to do with qualifying transcripts, but I get their point.

So can Diallo go to classes and practice with the team while this is ongoing? At the very least I'll take the small carrot of him being behind a little bit.

Yes. He was cleared to practice with the team and has been taking classes since summer.
