There's always so much love on here for the Twins and the Cubs, it's sickening at times. Sox fans let's unite and bask in the recent success the last couple weeks of our club in THIS thread!!

1 - Carlos Quentin is freaking unbelivable, basically carrying this club offensively the first two months. If Konerko, Thome and Swisher start hitting (Thome looks like he's starting to come around, Konerko with is first bomb in a month last night) watch out!!

2 - The young guns Floyd and Danks are pitching way above their age right now. I'd expect them to come back to earth a bit, but if their success now is what's to come in the future the Sox look to be set in the SP department for the next couple years. We just need Buerhle to pitch how he knows how to pitch...

3 - The bullpen has been lights out!! No runs over the last 27 innings, unreal!! I've never felt more comfortable with a one run lead than when we bring in Linebrink in the 8th then Jenks in the 9th for the save.

Discuss!!

I wouldn't get overly worked up with Cub and Twins fans thumping their chest. We know that the Cubs won't do anything. If they make the playoffs they will lose in the first round b/c they are the Cubs. Same w/ the Twins. Sorry fans but these teams are like ISU in that I have to see it to believe it!

As for the White Sox, enjoy it while you can, b/c they will start coming back down to reality really quick.

That will happen when you've played the Pirates for 40% of your season...

If you count the extra innings in your percentage, it may be more like 60%. Seriously, the Bucs have been giving us a run for you money, once that first series was over with.

Congrats to the ChiSox. Make sure to get out of the way of the Cubbie Express as we celebrate year 100 with our World Series victory:yes:!!

I think a Cubs/ChiSox series would be fun...

My question is this... What will the Cub haters say after we do win it all?

Bout time?

I am not a Cub hater, I just dislike their fans. I played ball in Illinois for 2 years and all my teammates where huge Cubs fans. Really reminded me of Hawk fans. And I cheer for the Braves who are not even a rival of the Cubs

I guess I didn't really intend for this to turn into a Cub fan vs. Sox fan thread... oh well...

You posted about a MLB team other than the Cubs...of course this is what was going to happen.

On a topic-related note, whatever happened to Josh Fields? I graduated HS with him and I recall him playing 3B for a while, but then Crede got healthy again and came back. Did he get traded, promoted, or cut?

I'll just point out that as a Twins fan I realize that the Twins are 2 games out of first not because of the outstanding season that they are having (I hardly call just over .500 outstanding) but because of just how bad the AL Central has been so far this year. I expected the Twins to be right around .500 this year, and that's right where they're at. The pitching, although inexperienced, has been a surprise and is keeping us in the division. Bottom line is the Tigers and Indians were expected to run away with the division this year. The Tigers have already gone down in flames and the Indians are sputtering. I heard on ESPN earlier this year that the Indians are going to regret not putting more games on the AL Central while the Tigers are having their difficulties. They might have to change that quote to the Indians wishing they had won a few more games early in the season.

The team the Sox beat last night was tied with the Cubs for the best record in baseball.

BTW, its awesome to see something happen with our offense.

Nothing in the White Sox lineup tells me they can sustain the kind of play right now.

BUT, the AL Central sucks. So, it won't take much like the NL Central last year.

Yeah, I don't see how they can continue to hit this badly as a team either.
