Both GOT and WD suffer when they stray from the cannon. For GOT, the added stuff last year was terrible and added nothing to the story.

Perhaps it's better to see the written version and tv version as two separate entities.

I haven't read GOT or TWD, but in following threads like this one I've found that many people who follow print & film versions for one or both series tend to be pretty crabby when the tv versions do not meet their expectations.

That's fair, even though the worst season of GOT is better than season of WD IMO.

What about Hardhome, was that terrible last year? Best episode of the season by far, completely strayed from the book. While as a book reader there were some things in the last season I wasn't a fan of, I am not sure you are correct here given that last season won the Emmy for Best Drama and set ratings records.

On GOT, I think some changes have been hits (Hardhome), and some have been misses (that whole Dorne road trip).

I think the blood dripping through the wall was just symbolism and foreboding, not a person being killed by walkers. The mass of walkers pressed against the wall were probably just causing some leaking of blood from the front. But I could be wrong of course.

I think the blood is Spencers blood. Dude probably killed himself during the watch or fell over. But I would guess if its dripping from the inside, hes still up top.

I have not read the comics, so don't know anything (other than what is mentioned) about this storyline, but have seen numerous references to Negan in these posts.

What a great casting for him. Buckle up everyone, you thought TWD was dark before, if they stay remotely close to the story, it's about to step up a notch.

Was it blood? I thought it was just a panel of the corrugated tin being pushed in from the other panel. Showing that the walls were eventually going to fail. But it was dark and hard to tell.

Hardhome existed in the cannon of GOT. Adding Snow there and making it current to the story are new, but the "horror" of hardhome existed. Bronn and Jamies Excellent Adventures in Dorne, did not.
