A few people on a message board =/= the vast majority of Iowa fans. Those of us with some sense don't care what Colin has to say.

We do love that the Hawkeyes are one of the top discussion pieces on his show, on your message boards, and just about everywhere college football is discussed. I like that his listeners get to hear about Iowa every single day.

I agree with you, however your attempted jab by saying "on your message boards" makes you sound like a ******.

If people don't like Cowherd, I'd like to know what their thoughts are on the completely low-brow 'duo' that took over his slot.

He knows his markets, and knows that Iowa has a good-sized fanbase, and their responses to him only helps his ratings.

The next time you're in Kinnick or Carver open your ears. They are not yelling "go hawks" , they are yelling " go hoks." Sounds exactly the same as, "wow that is a huge amount of phlegm you hoked up."

Is that really where the whole 'hok' thing comes from? I've never understood the joke/put down/insult. That's really it?

Unless you count the video of his song that was linked earlier here, then no, I have not.

If you like discussions about the Yankees, Red Sox, Tom Brady, SEC football, and blue bloods in NCAA basketball, and all other things that are big sports markets, you missed out.

I'm not certain of the origin and it's definitly a northern plains diction thing, but just listen the next time you're around a flock of them.

I've been around plenty of them lots of times. Never noticed it. It seems like kind of a lame insult if you have to explain it. And it's pretty weak even after you do.

Oh dang. Looks like I'm good then.
That's amazing you pay attention to sports and that is the first time you heard him talk. Absolutely amazing.

See above ^^. I don't waste my time watching our listening to things I don't care about.

Are you bring serious? I'll listen to Kfan in the cities, or watch live sports. Not interested in national sorts talk shows.

Cowherd did a lot more than radio at espn. Just surprises me you had never heard him talk til today.

He DID at times have some other things that were interesting points about every day life, but he still spent too much time on things that, well, ESPN spends too much time on.

Not exactly sure.

Not an insult, just they way they say it. Like putting ioway for very southern Iowa guys. Get in the sticks and its pronounced that way.

He's doing what he can to get attention after getting booted from ESPN. Check his TV ratings lately. Not good. But yes, he picked the right fanbase to troll. Idiots can't resist.

Like we'd react any differently. Plus this is a huge boost for Iowa. They are being talked about nationally every day.
