Need a hero.

Can someone photoshop the ISU logo in there?

He is a position coach, so my prediction would hold true.

Why would he be different than Rhoads though?

CPR was not really known as a great recruiter or a great coach at his previous jobs honestly.mhe was just ok. And ISU needs more than just ok. Alford is arguably the best RB coach in the country and prob one of the best recruiters in the country. What we need at ISU and its been said time and time again is a HC who can recruit talent to ISU and be a leader.

If we are going the DIII-route, I'd rather get Leipold from UW-Whitewater (now at Buffalo)

Stitt is in his first year at Montana, an FCS school. Before that he was at Colorado School of Minds, Div. II. The key in looking at Stitt, imo, is looking at what NFL and college coaches think of him. Stitt is a big time out-of-the-box thinker, which might - MIGHT - be a necessary thing for Iowa State to closely consider.

How fast will Pollard Move.

with all the dominos falling in college football how fast will Pollard move on getting the new coach. I mean with MBB he was really fast. With having to put together a full staff that can take time and to reassure all the recruits coming in and also our returning players on who the coach will be next year.
if he waits and all the other schools start naming coaches then that domino effect.

I agree. We will know before the bowl games.

There is a lot of coaching turn over right now. Not a bad thing lots of coaches looking for jobs. Easy to build a staff maybe? Lots of top coordinators throwing their hats into the ring this year. Bull market for sure. It will be important that JP knows what he wants and gets it while avoiding the swire of the sexy names and all.

We will be one of the later filled slots, and I hate to say it because CF will be an unbearable place!

ONly chance to fill early is if ISU aims low and throws more money at the guy than they should. Guys with experience are going to have multiple options, and I love ISU, but we aren't going to be the first option for most.

It would be nice if these consolidated threads could tabulate new mentions of each head coach, and then, when one coach has definitely been eliminated, that info could be added to the tabulation. I have no interest in viewing ALL posts from every armchair QB/AD.

The quicker the better. Need to keep recruits, keep current players from transferring, and start building relationships/implementing philosophies sooner, rather than later.

Haven't read the whole thread but has Joe Moglia been mentioned? If I was Pollard, I would try to talk to him to get his take on the job even if there wasn't a ton of mutual interest. He would have a much different viewpoint than your typical college football coach.

Re: How fast will Pollard Move.

He moved fast for the basketball hire because he had to, it was pretty late in the process then Fred left.

My assumption is that unless you're hiring Hoke, whoever he's targeting will have a bowl game to prepare for.
