Does anyone have an updated log of who is confirmed and rumored to fill each spot? That would be pretty nice.

Bringing Golesh, Illinois' recruiting coordinator, on as ISU's own pretty much tells you they are serious about the 4 hour strategy. He already knows most of the overlapping areas ISU will want to begin recruiting hard right away. Campbell himself can drag that line east to Ohio for awhile while fresh efforts are made to build up credibility in our more traditional recruiting spots in the south.

I still believe much of our defensive staff will have to be known quantities as recruiters from TX and OK. If CMC agrees and they get that done, this staff will be pretty darn good from a recruiting standpoint.

Defensive Line Coach, WR coach, and Defensive Coordinator.

If a person is thinking of Texas ties, then he might be looking at possibly retaining Stan Eggen for Defensive Line. We would have a new WR coach and a new DC as well. Burnham was strictly Florida recruiting.

The Toledo DL coach, Eli Rasheed is rumored to be on the way. Guy with FL ties.

Recruiting Analyst Tom Lemming says CMC will need to bring a coach on board who can recruit Texas well. If he doesn't, he says ISU will continue to "flounder". He says too many recruits from the east don't watch Big XII football.

TX has a bigger population than OH+PA combined, by 2.5 million people, and ISU plays 4 TX teams each year, and two games in TX each year. It seems like a no-brainer to have a strong TX recruiter on staff. For whatever reason, Rhoads didn't get around to addressing this.

If this staff ends up being full of great recruiters then it might not really matter if none of them have a history in Texas. New staff, new image, new connection to build deep in the heart of Texas.

I would argue that was supposed to be Kenneth Pope and then Linquist.

If that is the case, we have our DL coach and we have Florida ties. Now we need a WR coach and Defensive Coordinator.

I have noticed that Toledo actually recruits all over. IMO, CMC and staff are much more aggressive and push into more areas than we were doing under CPR.

We haven't had a coach that could pull true talent from Texas in at least 10 years. And even before that, it was pretty sparse. In the past 15 years, we've recruited something like 6-7 players out of Texas high schools that ended up as significant contributors for more than a year (which is pretty sad when you consider the number of players we've signed from Texas).

Saw a tweet saying that all the Toledo coaches except for Manning will return to UT to coach the bowl game. How does that work? Seems a little awkward.

Well they just announced the first assistant who might be my age or older. I guess this means I am middle-aged.

Some of the best players ISU has had since the Big 12 formed, at their respective positions on the field, came from Texas. I can't believe we are going to argue that recruiting Texas isn't important.
