Never cared for his goatee anyway but he just went on a HUGE rant about how not having a Conf. Championship game is a GIGANTIC advantage.

He and others saying this are idiots. The championship game is there because each team only played HALF of their conference along with their powder puff games. The B12 played fewer powder puffs and then played EVERY single other team in their conference. Having a conf championship game is the only barometer to see if one of the two teams MIGHT be the top team and still doesn't complete that task.

Remember back in the day when the Big 12 had a championship game and the Big 10 and Pac 10 didn't and we had the BCS?
You could be a 1 loss team, make the conference championship, lose and get knocked out of a BSC game because you had 2 losses.
Or in the big 10 in 2002 when Ohio State played for the BCS title and Iowa gets thumped by USC in the orange bowl.
They never played each other in the regular season and had no championship game, so they put 2 into BCS games.

It was an advantage not to have a championship game. No one complained about it then. Fast forward to today, the big 12 is the only conference without a game and it's a big deal to everyone.

Think if we didn't have the playoff.
Iowa vs Clemson for the title. It could still end up that way but at least now they have to play someone to get there.

I watched their in depth analysis and they manage to avoid the only relevant question.
Assuming 3 of 4 spots are set: OU, Alabama and the BIG winner.
Real question is does a 1 loss ACC Champ UNC earn a bid over 2 loss Pac 12 champ or 1 loss Ohio St?

What about when ksu crushed OU in the b12 title game, and OU still went on to play USC in the national title?

Mark May is a moron. It amazes me that most of these guys got the jobs they did. There is no logic behind most of what they say and if there is, it is usually failed. The Big 12 has to play every team. They don't get to dodge anyone like UNC/Clemson or Iowa/MSU or Bama/UF. I mean look at those conference championships. Do we think it's a coincidence that none of those teams have played each other yet and they are representing their half of the conference?

I think the winner of UNC/Clemson should be in the playoffs no matter what for the same reason I think OU should be in. Yes, awful losses that stack up worse than Iowa's and likely MSU's but they were early and they were so bad I call them a fluke and don't think they are representative of their team. I realize you can poke holes in that all day but I believe that both of those teams are top 6 teams and the winner should be in.

Gary Danielson is just as bad too. What a dinosaur. He should watch games with Brady Hoke and talk about 32 crossbucks.

No, playing the 8 worst teams in the Big Ten conference is a HUGE advantage.
