I'm sure Prohm is looking and he is very good friends with Kennedy. Hope he at least reaches out and sees if there is anything there.

I noticed he said he was going to lean on Wes Grandstaff. I'm assuming that's Austin Grandstaff's father. Austin if you remember was a SG we recruited under Fred. TJ may have been involved early on, and he did have a UW offer.

If there is a connection already established that would help.

Is that a good connection considering he is transfering?

On the surface this looks like an obvious playing time issue, not something personal. If there was something he liked about Kennedy and/or what he's running at A&M enough to go there, you have to think that a Kennedy protégé with obvious holes to fill in the post would be an attractive transfer destination.

Also, if he believes that a certain starting junior will still be on the team next year it might make the program even more attractive.

Exactly. I mean Monte, Matt, Hallice, Jackson, Burton...that's a strong backcourt to come in and play with. Add in the fact that the other 'big' you're probably competing with most for playing time (Malou) is equally, if not more, comfortable playing out on the wing, that's pretty damn attractive if I'm a post looking to make an instant impact somewhere.

I would say yes in this case. He'll have to sit out a year so it's not like Kennedy will have to face him when we play there later this year.

A second semester line up of:

1- Morris
2- M. Thomas
3- Burton
4- Malou
5- E. Thomas

With Cooke, Jackson, Long, Carter, Ernst and Young off the bench would make me feel pretty confident

Something about me has a feeling that Thomas will be a stud next year the way he's improving and the way we'll need him to be a leader next year. We lose to Iowa this year without him.

As a transfer won't he have to sit a year?

I would assume if he's announcing now instead of sticking out the season, it's to avoid still being enrolled beginning of spring semester. So it would be a Burton/McKay situation where he'd sit out most of the non-con and start playing in late December.

It is in this case.

Kennedy is to Prohm like Qui-Gon-Jin was to Obi-Wan Kenobi (sorry, couldnt resist since SW comes out this week). They're tight. Prohm is a Kennedy disciple. Kennedy would probably prefer a stud like this transfer out of the SEC. Why not tell your former protege to take a look at this kid when this kid gives you what you probably are lacking a little bit of next season? We could definitely use him. If it's playing time he's looking for we do have some minutes for him here.

Thomas in his comments sounded like they were parting on good terms. That's a positive for us. After watching his videos, he's a big load and quite skilled around the hoop. I think we would take him in a heartbeat.

Hopefully it's appealing to play for a team that will be in its 5th straight NCAA tourney this spring, and one that he would be highly likely to start at.

Is Texas A&M even good? Why isn't he playing? Just because some scouts rated him high out of high school doesn't mean he will produce for any school. I'd want to know the answers to those questions first.

Yes, they are a good team. I don't know who he's competing with for PT, however. He has battled injuries as well.
