We know that. But do you think the national guys put that much effort into their comments? They look at our lineup and see that we will likely lose all 5 starters.

I see why they say it but it doesn't mean its true. Or that they are trolling Iowa State fans.

But won't we have Naz back next year? And whoever starts for him now, Matt or Deonte? Seems like we will be returning two starters.

Hate to see Goodman get more attention for the extra nut kick on top of the bad news yesterday.

On the positive side of things, it got Naz to shut down the rumor quickly and move on. I bet before Goodman even raised the issue, jsb was probably getting ready to write a thread about Naz leaving. So now we don't have to worry about jsb moaning about this for the next 4-5 months. I consider that a win, and have no issues with Goodman.

I get the feeling people don't realize how good Malou is. He is Georges, taller, and more athletic. Whether he has Georges mind and character IDk but if you haven't seen him play, you really owe it to yourselves to go drink some cool-aid.

Decent interview on KXNO. I still don't agree with him but at least he explained his thoughts on Naz better.

I guess I mostly took issue with this "not an NCAA tourney team in 2016" comment. We got some pretty good pieces coming back (yes, thin in front court) but the guards we do have are damn talented. Just didn't seem like he had a real good grasp of our recruiting class when he made the NCAA comment.

You'll take a dude that has played 0 minutes of major college basketball over a pre-season all american?

I think they probably meant "athletically"? Because there's no doubt that Malou is MUCH more athletic than Niang is.

However, that does not make Malou a better basketball player. Niang has unbelievable basketball skills. He can dribble and bring the ball up the court, he can pass really well, he can shoot from 3, he can score with either hand down low with multitudes of moves, etc. Tons of skills.

You really should watch Malou play.

And I get the feeling people are over stating how good he is. Excited to have him, but being athletic, skilled, etc. at Yuma college doesn't make you an impact big 12 player. But, you're right, I haven't seen him play & the videos I've seen must not be doing him justice.

In what way did he "explain his thoughts on Naz better?"

Look guys I love George, but what makes George good is his mind. He works hard, practices hard, has high character. He's probably going to be one of the most beloved Grads from ISU of all time, BUT I guarantee you he is never going to cross over dribble and blow by his guy, following it up with a tomahawk dunk over the other teams 5 man. Malou can do that.

That the timing of the announcement puzzled him.

- why would a player so quickly shut it down when you're on a Final Four projected team? Why not wait till later this season and see if he can go in February? (loosely quoted as best I can from memory)

Hmmm...6'9" & crossover dribble & blow by, huh. Was Woodbury guarding him? Just kidding.

Didn't he think it was possible that Naz knew he couldn't perform like he'd hope and the 29% shooting was just going to cost his team in the long run?? Not to mention that the medical staff might have said 4-6 months rest to have any hope of being close to normal again? Just a few scenarios that Mr. Goodman could have thought about. Was that his supposed 'backup' to throw out we wouldn't be in the tournament and naive about Fred to the Bulls?

To get a head start on recovery and ensure that you play less than 30% of the season as to not disqualify himself for medical red-shirt? Just a hunch.

And all the intangibles. Dude's a winner.
