Nice watching Self talk about getting beat. I could watch that over and over.

Bill does what he has to do to win, whether that be trash talking with the Iowa State fans, allowing his players to behave like jackasses, etc.

What I would like to know is why the officials spend every timeout in deep conversation with the Kansas assistant coaches? Why are they even over there? What are they saying. Stupid officials.

Last night was the first time I can remember one of Self's teams actually giving up. We may beat Kansas, but we don't pull away from them at the end. I thought the Chickenhawks looked beaten long before the end, and their play showed it. Maybe the Kansas mystique (sorry, threw up in my mouth there a little) is starting to disappear.

Heh, heh.

Anybody notice him stick his hand in his armpit. Then wipe his hand on his sleeve..... later runs his fingers under his nose.

Almost as cool as picking his nose..

I thought it was odd that Self thinks he is on a first name basis with Iowa State players.

If Kansas doesn't make it out of the first weekend this year in the NCAAs, that fan base is gonna get really nasty.

I think they mentioned that ISU has taken the last 4 of 5 from KU and that no one in conference has ever done that to a Bill Self coached KU team. If true, that little nugget may be lurking in the back of some of the KU players minds when ISU started making their run like "oh no, here we go again".

I doubt the players even know that. I assume any KU players saying "oh, no here we go again" would be based on knowing that they have been struggling to finish games of late and that ISU is a good team.

When your goto guy is 39 year old Perry since Frank had 7 turnovers and Wayne went 1 for 7 on threes, you are probably doomed against a good offense.

I think he's a great coach and a good sport with opposing fans and media. Although i just want Georges to be the one that dethrones KU, maybe ISU and OU can split the title. Buddy Hield deserves a slice of the KU tear pie.

This is an interesting perspective, I think I could get on board with that too...damn shame about the Baylor and Texas games. All that aside Bill Self is def in the love/hate with me, one of my best friends is a KU grad and it got pretty quiet at my place late in the game.
