Believe McKay is a primadonna and crys about playing time. He blows on rebounding and can't handle the ball as he has weak hands. Burton should start and let McKay sub in - the lob pass is not working if contested as Jameel loses control of the ball 90% of time. Deonte needs to be more of a focus - or CSP can go on his merry way and watch the meltdown. Bench is a joke - Ashton and Cooke do not worry anyone on opposing teams and Carter is an unknown. Might as well put in Ned - maybe he would actually defend as McKay sure can't.

I can't for the life of me understand how Burton isn't getting at least 20 minutes a game.

Burton hasn't been that bad on defense. Look at the effficiency numbers. Prohm is in over his head

I don't get it either. He was really on last night. Came in around 12:30 and made several shots and got 3 consecutive defensive rebounds with nice box outs in the first half. Then, was promptly taken out by Prohm around 7 minutes after we had made a huge run with Burton. Total head-scratcher to me. Particularly when we aren't deep; why is he playing so little? His defense isn't worse than a couple others in my mind.

Prohm seems to be set on bringing Burton in around the 12 minute mark (unless foul trouble occurs earlier), and then takes him out around the same time. I just don't like it. I think he should be playing 25 mins a game. Not 15-18.

I think his dexterity on offense is a problem for other teams and the ball at times seems to move around a bit more when he's in. He had some nice drive and kick-outs last night, and was aggressive to the rim without necessarily rushing things.

On defense, it's almost like he just needs to be told to just stay with whatever guy he's responsible for so at least he won't lose him.

Last night was a perfect night for someone with some real physicality to help out.

Burton was giving effort in rebounding, no one else was. it was plain as day. He had 3 fouls in the first half, so I can buy why he wasn't in more then. But he should have more minutes in the 2nd. Especially with McKay in the locker room again.

Georges is playing out of control the last three games.

Defense, I can't believe the first page wasn't just people saying defense.

It's unfair to compare him to the other guys in a night of bad defense, Burton's is on a different level, in a bad way. If he's even a below average defender he gets plenty of minutes, but right now he has to be incredibly productive to counter the dunks he's giving up.

I'm not negative on the guy, he has the potential to be a monster, just stating why he struggles to get minutes at times.

Yes I would rather have a guy who turns the ball over 4 times a game, shoots 1 for 6 from 3 most games, and allows his man to drive past him at least 4 times a game...NADER. I'll give you Burton is lost at times, but his hustle will get his hands on balls, blocks and steals. Nader is terrible on D. But then our whole front line is pretty bad.

Burton would get more minutes if he didn't have so many fouls called against him... Didn't he have 3 in the first half in the time he played?? He seems to pick up at least 2 every first half he plays in.

i don't even like defense and it's not so much Burton's individual defense one v. one it's that he has no clue on the concepts of team defense. We can't switch with him out there, we can't on the fly to a zone with him out there. I think he'll improve rapidly but you have to be playing in this league for awhile before you really get it and you aren't hurting the other guys because you don't know what is really happening out there. He's like a QB that doesn't know the playbook at this point.

But really it's ******* hilarious that people have swung to "I don't care about defense" after the meltdowns of previous losses.

Agree most of the time but last night he was even making some good things happen on defense, like steals, blocks, and knocking the ball loose. He's been getting more consistent lately and when he's as dominant as he was last night he just has to be in there (at least down the stretch). I feel sorry for Jameel, he's just not the same shot blocking menace in the middle like he was last year and not the same money guy on alley-oops either. Have to think the tendonitis is affecting his play and we have to get him healthy if possible. George seems to be forcing things a little too much down the stretch and maybe if Burton was in there it would help George. We need to get this figured out so Burton is getting more minutes, at least when he's playing as well as he has been lately.

Burton is as good at rebounding as any of the other wings/power forwards we have. He is also bringing just a much offense. When he is scoring and hustling and rebounding like he was last night that is like playing with house money. You put it all out there and let it go as long at it will take you.

McKay is in a bit of a funk. I am all for leting him get a game of rest if he needs it. See what happens with Burton and bench trying to fill the gap. If things get really bad bring in McKay as a savior kind of thing. Will at lease boost his ego and maybe help his funk.
