Are they losses, sure but let's not overstate the importance. We have a lot of receivers and it isn't like Dvario lit the world on fire here last year.

Thomas is a bit bigger of a loss, but he was primarily a Goal Line back. I could see him wanting to transfer to try and be the man. It just wasn't going to happen behind Mike Warren. I look for Croney to step into that role if need be. We have two very good RB's coming in but they aren't quite big enough to be the goal line guy.

IDK who Andrew Smith is, but Indian Outlaw (person who RT'd it) is Jake Rhoads. Paul Rhoads son.

I realize a RT isnt an endorsement but I found this interesting considering I've heard from a good source close to the program that there is a group of probably 12-15 guys on the team that share this same sentiment as Andrew Smiths tweet.

Running off players who can help you win is never a good strategy. I hope players come around to the ideas of the new staff, and the new staff recognizes there are players on this team who can help them win in 2016. CMC needs to recruit the current players as well, cause if he doesn't, we're in for a turd of a debut season for this new staff. Seriously, this team is not that far from winning 6 and getting to a bowl next season.

I feel like I let you guys down... I was just going to start a thread before this came out.

Heard through come people close to football players that about 20ish players have left or are leaving the program. TWENTY. Reasons why: Campbell to business like and staff about winning, not family oriented like CPR, coaches spending time on young guys and new recruits has been taken wrong way by older players, etc.

I fear these two are the first of many....

What a terrible concept...win some games and do big things....but no, I like my family safe space...SMDH

I don't mind Campbell purging the team a bit. Players obviously need to buy in.

But I hope he isn't purging just to get rid of people. There is some talent on the team.

If the players leaving would rather play on a 3 win team, then let them go.

I'm not sure how I feel about this...

All I know is that losing Thomas is a BIG loss. There goes your number 2 running back, to be replaced probably by a freshman.

Not surprising to me. Thomas was never going to be the top dawg here and DM came here to play with Sam B.

who knows? But it is not surprising and understandable that jake rhoads would not love the new staff and would probably not hate it if others did not like them as well. Best to ignore him.

from a different thread:

Yes. I think it was one RB (won't say name because I didn't even recognize him) who was talking TO Tyler Brown. He was saying things along the lines of

"JT knew he would fail (the drug test) so he quit. What a *******."
"Coach Lou was really disappointed"

He kept saying "JT" and referenced coach Lou. Not sure if there are other JT's on the team? And since it was two RB's talking, I thought it was safe to assume they were talking about Joshua Thomas.

Jake needs to take Paul's Hard hat off and realize a storm of mediocrity would be a huge step up for this program.

Where this hurts the most is depth. Say Lazard or Warren get injured and are out for a few games this is where it will show. WR isn't as bad though bc they have a couple other WR that can produce. It hurts most at RB especially since they already lost another RB.

Reading through that kid's twitter feed and it seems like he has a lot of hate for the basketball team. Also was angry that the fans started to turn on the football team, even though they won 8 games in 3 years.

That's awesome that Rhoads was more of a 'family man' as you say. But you know what, too many stupid decisions that cost us wins made my family angry. He didn't care about my family.
Rhoads always let his players spend time with their family around the holidays. That was real good of him.

Mediocrity is a step up from what we saw on the field the past few years.
