No argument with the part in bold..but I'll ask again, if we played so terrible tonight....who specifically was bad?...and I'm talking for the game. Should be an easy enough question for you to answer, given how awful you think we played.

Nobody specifically played horrible tonight, which makes this loss even more mind boggling. Texas Tech is not a good basketball team.

Fair enough...they also aren't a bad basketball team anymore. They've now played us, Texas, West Virginia, Baylor, and Kansas down to the wire in Lubbock.

We we soft as charmin against West Virginia, and we couldn't guard a sack lunch in our losses against Baylor and UNI. Tonight we battled for 45 minutes and had a team play above their head against us...if people are going to be angry at the players tonight, it should be at the one that's back in Ames for being a diva. We win that game if Jameel is there. And I fully support Prohm's decision to suspend him.

That team also beat Texas. Lost on a buzzer beater to Baylor. And played Kansas down to the wire until Kansas made plays late.

And tough to call tonight 'our ceiling' when we're playing without our leading rebounder and shot blocker...although I'll concede it's a coin flip each night out whether he'll be an asset or liability. People should be smart enough by now though to realize we can beat anyone on a given night.

The ability to beat any team in a given night can be said for every D1 team.

We got outscored on the 3 point line and free throw line by 23 points, that means we needed 11 more 2 point buckets to make up the difference, pretty tough to overcome on the road.

This team is frustrating...but we played pretty good for the most part tonight. Georges was great. Monte was good. Burton was good. Nader was good (although he had a few bonehead plays). Thomas chased Gotcher around all night. And our bench (Cooke, Ashton, Carter) was as good as it normally would be.

We played better tonight than we have in a lot of our wins this year.

Agree for the most part but then in 90 seconds we have a bad to from a guy that never makes them leading to a run out and a terrible foul by a 5th year senior. Our all American misses a crucial front end and to top it all off we don't execute anything in our final possession of regulation. We did play a pretty solid game for 37 minutes but unfortunately that doesn't do us much good when we lose our collective **** in the last 3 minutes.

Whatever slim chance we had in the conference race is now gone so hopefully we can focus on getting ourselves right for March. These guys are Cyclones and I'll pull for them till the end but they can be absolutely maddening to watch at times.

All game long I pictured Jamaal sitting on his Mom's knee, her braiding his hair and saying, "see sweetie, they're lost without you".

I don't know if we would have won this game had McKay played, but I think after this loss the team should require him to cut his hair before he comes back.

UNI, Texas Tech...

we are like a lot of teams in that regard. Very few teams that will make the ncaa don't have s bad loss or 3. But some idiots act like Iowa state is the ******* only one.

Some of you need to face reality.

"Bad losses" are one thing but does any program consistently deliver kicks to the bag the way that ISU does to their fanbase? I honestly can't think of one. Seriously, if we're going to lose can we just do it in some normal fashion and do away with epic meltdowns that leave me awake 2 hours later and posting on CF instead of just falling asleep?

yes they do but we don't notice it because we don't give a **** about other teams. Are we really stupid enough to think that?

I guess I am. I'm also smart enough to not get too worked up about somebody like you calling me stupid.

you'd be able to deal with things better if you realized that bad things happen to every team. But after every ******* loss and a good chunk of wins lots of posters act like it's all sunshine and roses for every other team. Someone on here was ******** about our largest winning margin was 13. How many games for every conference win were over 13. Not a ton.

hell look at the ******* team that won tonight, they've had several heartbreaking losses. Texas too. Oklahoma state could have beat us and lost at the last second against Oklahoma. But yet WE ARE THE ONLY TEAM SNYTHING BAD HAOPENS TOO.

And you'd be able to deal with things better if you could spot a bit of hyperbole. You don't think I know about OSUs losses when I've watched us rip their heart out the last few years? Jesus...lighten up Francis. I guess we should just be thankful to have someone as wise as you around to tell us how the rest of us should react after wins and losses.

like 80% of the teams in the country.

Yes, but we've truly proven it the last couple of years, spectacularly in some cases (see: vs. UAB, UNI, South Carolina, KU (at home and Big 12 Tournament), #1 OU, etc. etc. etc.).

again, it happens to many teams. But if it helps to pretend we are the only team with sometimes crappy luck, then go ahead.
