I finally got up the courage to venture into GTO's poll. GTO - You are a master at encapsulating my thoughts as it pertains to Cyclone basketball games. Your attention to detail and obscure references remind me of Dennis Miller at his finest or Mrs. JCyclonee when she is critiquing the mess I made in the kitchen.
Thanks! I was probably one of the few people that enjoyed Dennis Miller on MNF.

Finally got an update on a couple federal jobs I applied to 4 months ago...saying that they had passed my information to the hiring manager. :skeptical:

Dang that beats when I was applying to be an air traffic controller. That application was messed up.

Just got a call from daycare. Daughter is throwing up.

Is it bad that my first thought was "I hope she didn't throw up on her new shirt" ?

so not a big shot manager yet. But today may have just moved that along!

So vendor that delivered nothing on their deadline and are now going to be taking up all my time as we try and automate what I do? I can't even today. Working with smart computer coworker and we made more progress in 30 minutes than vendor has made in a whole damn year. We joked that we'll get a cut of that check now, right? Right? Who would have guessed that a program basically has a map inside telling you all about the data structure and how to read it? And that I sent a screen shot of it last fall? Saying like, hey this may be useful! Turns out it is! And if vendor had asked me about it, I could have given more info than just the screenshot that wasn't all that useful on its own. Honest to God, with a little more digging today, we just got rid of so much work but we can't figure out why in the hell it wasn't the first damn thing determined. Wasted so much time trying to identify things one at a time when we had a ******* map of it.

And then IT is blocking a site I need and trying to get me to use their ****** version of it instead. No. Just no.

yes, I'm annoyed right now.

Isn't that like, lighting quick for a Federal job? Somebody in the HR office must be working overtime!

Dudes, Congress didn't pass a fiscal year 2016 appropriation bill till just before Christmas so agencies were unsure of their appropriations and likely had to sit on hiring until they actually got their office budget. 1/4 the way through the year before Congress quit ******* around. We just got word down regarding our final funds for the year in my agency.

A high school classmate of mine passed away today from a heart attack he suffered about a week ago. He was only 33.

Sorry to hear that. It's scary to think about people your age or younger passing away.

Applying to any government position is ridiculously slow. It's always months before you hear back from them.
