Can't be too upset. Didn't expect us to win, but it would have been a nice resume boost. The effort seemed to be there, but our lack of depth combined with foul trouble and Press Virginia's style of play kind of doomed us from the start. Good chance to rest a little bit and hopefully get a nice bounce back win at Hilton this Saturday.

Thank you :) uh, Terminate the Head Coach.
Not because of this game, not because of our lack of depth, not because of his use of substitution or clock management, But more because of his lack of coaching effort. He didn't set up one play. He didn't argue one call, he hardly even praised a single effort by any of his own players. The only thing he's proven to me, is he knows how to suspend a player, and not communicate very well to the public (and probably his own team) IDK But what I DO know, is a team with this much talent has never underperformed (or underachieved) like this before. Coaching...

And he wears poorly fitting suits!

Not sure some people here understand what happens when you get ticky tack after ticky tack and only have 7 guys really. It is self fulfilling. There were at least three basic big man layups attributed to letting their man go. If a guy rolls on you, you can't re-position to try to get in front again, the officials will call a BS foul on you. So you let it go and hope to outscore them. But then you get molested and can't score.

I will say that these guys are not defensive stars by any means. That is not why Hoiberg brought them here. But, some of the fouls called tonight were rather questionable. If you think otherwise, you are simply an official apologist.

Or you try to keep them in front of you for once? I agree the refs sucked tonight, but that doesn't excuse how insanely terrible our defense has become.

I do agree with you. I notice that Jameel ends up UNDER the basket a LOT. Tonight Williams had a nice arm bar in his back, but you just can't let that happen time after time. He is not a traditional Center, but he might need to pick up a couple tricks to keep from getting screened out of every guard drive and long three rebound.

Our horrendous defense started 10 min into the game. Some of you are in total denial how bad it is the entire game.

We will win the next 2, lose to Kansas, finish the regular season at 21-10 (10-8), win one and lose one in Big 12 tourney, take a 4 seed into the sweet 16 where we lose. That would probably rank in the top 5 all time seasons of ISU basketball and yet it will be really disappointing considering the expectations for this team.

Well, I have to give that to you. But there were several ticky tacks when we staying in front of them. The one that drives me nuts was paige driving the lane, dribbling off of someone, falling down and they give him a foul for being out of control and dribbling into someone. I watched that a couple times and I'm pretty sure our man didn't cause the contact. But, give the man a 1 and 1. Do that enough and you're not going to belly up to anyone.

Ill be shocked if ISU makes it to the Sweet 16. I think they can win won, but no way they can win 2 games in two days. I think they will be 1-1 in both the Big 12 and the NCAA tourney.

Yup, win the next two, do our best at Kansas and go 1-1 in the Big 12 tourney. Get a 4 seed or so and let the games begin.

Pretty brutal defense. This is the third straight game an opposing player has scored his season high in points against Iowa State: Motley with 27 for Baylor, Miller with 19 for TCU and now Paige with 34 for West Virginia.

Im getting really sick of Prohm just standing there with his arms crossed or squatting down while we continue to get pummeled every time down the court. This was a perfect time to get T'd up and stick up for your team.

My personal favorite was the one on McKay where he was obviously trying to just get the heck out of the way. Barely even made contact with him while backing up quickly and turning to the side and they call him for the foul. I'm sure we could put together a top 10 worst calls from this game pretty easily.

This team is a 5/12 upset waiting to happen. Enjoy the next 2 games cause that's likely the last wins of the season
I still think we end up a 6 or 7. The committee is watching and could place us there when we have 11 losses going into the tourney. Won't be a bad upset. Guess it beats getting humiliated by a mid major.
