My personal favorite was the one on McKay where he was obviously trying to just get the heck out of the way. Barely even made contact with him while backing up quickly and turning to the side and they call him for the foul. I'm sure we could put together a top 10 worst calls from this game pretty easily.
That might be a bit restrictive.

I still think we end up a 6 or 7. The committee is watching and could place us there when we have 11 losses going into the tourney. Won't be a bad upset. Guess it beats getting humiliated by a mid major.

Zero chance we get a 6/7 seed if we win the next two at home. Zero chance.

Ill be shocked if ISU makes it to the Sweet 16. I think they can win won, but no way they can win 2 games in two days. I think they will be 1-1 in both the Big 12 and the NCAA tourney.

Yes they can. This is a tough team to get ready for on short notice. If you are a team that has never played ISU, that would make it even harder.

I understand you can't trust Cooke/Ashton in the 2nd half, but also is should be clear at this point that you can't trust the starters to make plays at the end of the game when they're dead tired. I really think you gotta get some minutes from the bench early in the 2nd half.

I tend to agree with this. I'd just like to see Cooke and Ashton get 10 minutes between them to get other guys a blow.

Pretty brutal defense. This is the third straight game an opposing player has scored his season high in points against Iowa State: Motley with 27 for Baylor, Miller with 19 for TCU and now Paige with 34 for West Virginia.

One of those is not like the other

Im getting really sick of Prohm just standing there with his arms crossed or squatting down while we continue to get pummeled every time down the court. This was a perfect time to get T'd up and stick up for your team.

He did work the refs a lot tonight. What good does getting T'ed up really do?

Need a tough nosed garbage man like Hogue or Ejim down low to rebound and a guard (maybe Cooke or Ashton still can) like Babb that can keep his man out of the paint.

Please stop this, I've seen enough of Ashton to know he is not the answer on offense or defense. Did you also not see how shell shocked Cooke was in the last seconds of the game as he tried to drive with a WV player molesting him all the way and no call. Best case Cooke can come in for a few minutes to spell Morris early in the game when we don't have other offensive players out. Prohm has been doing it more lately, but I don't think tonight in a competitive game against that press and those officials was the place to do it. Sounds like a good chance at a bunch of quick turnovers and WV run. At least McKay seemed serviceable tonight.

The players we have are the players we have. Prohm had zero chance to get anyone better for this year with as late as he got there. Don't blame him for this.

I am shocked we didn't get our ***** handed to us. I expected a huge blow-out. Bob Huggins has an influence on the officials. All Prohm does is his famous squat on the baseline and licks his lips like a tweeker. smh!!

Don't forget the Prohm standing with his arms folded staring off into space look as well. Could he at least try to work the refs just a little? Also, I'll chip in $10.00 right now to start a collection so he can get a new pair of dress shoes and get rid of those ugly-*** brown things. I mean, he's making pretty good money now. Time to upgrade the wardrobe a little...

All of our loses outside UNI are against top 30 teams. No way we fall to 6 or 7 seed. Seriously dude.

Yup, win the next two, do our best at Kansas and go 1-1 in the Big 12 tourney. Get a 4 seed or so and let the games begin.
Who can they beat in the Big 12 tournament? About the only chance would be if they end up a 7 seed in the play in game.

OK, let's all agree that our D is not very good. That is likely a combination of several factors:
1) These guys were not recruited cause they were awesome at D
2) Many of these guys were part of a system where O was emphasized vs. D.
3) Many of these guys had more success than not playing this way.
4) This team is down a pretty good player that doesn't allow for the O to overshadow the bad D.
5) That same player would provide moire depth and a few more fouls that could have made a BIG difference this year.
6) They have a short bench and they tend to conserve their energy / fouls so they can play the whole game.

You complainers are right, their D is not good. You can quit harping on that and just try to enjoy what is left of the season. Then let Prohm start to build the team that will meet your expectations on D. If he isn't there in 2 years, I will also be complaining. But until then, we should just concentrate on intimidating all 8 people on the floor at Hilton and KC. Because that is the only way we'll see an evenly called game the rest of the year.

I think they'd have to go 1-3 to get a 7. They'll have 11 losses, but all but one will be to a team outside the RPI top 50. Plus the wins over KU, OU, and Iowa will speak for themselves.

Thank you :) uh, Terminate the Head Coach.
Not because of this game, not because of our lack of depth, not because of his use of substitution or clock management, But more because of his lack of coaching effort. He didn't set up one play. He didn't argue one call, he hardly even praised a single effort by any of his own players. The only thing he's proven to me, is he knows how to suspend a player, and not communicate very well to the public (and probably his own team) IDK But what I DO know, is a team with this much talent has never underperformed (or underachieved) like this before. Coaching...

No amount of coaching can counter exhaustion!
